KISS: Ace Frehley book-signing tour announced

It’s 2011 and rockers still head out on tour – now, they’re book-signing events, not full-on rock shows.

Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi are currently on the circuit, and now former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley joins the crowded schedule at book stores across the nation.

Frehley’s autobiography, “No Regrets: A Rock N’ Roll Memoir,” gets published on November 1.

Co-written by New York Times journalist Joe Layden, the book is being billed as “a funny, truthful, candid memoir about a hard-drinking, drug-addicted, music-loving guitar player who lived life as a rock star and survived to tell the tale.”

“No Regrets” goes behind the make-up, the money, the women, and the partying. Frehley recounts his battles with drug addiction and his brushes with death, sets the record straight about his complicated relationships with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, and describes his evolution as a musician.

Frehley performed with KISS from its inception in 1973 until his first departure in 1982, before rejoining the band in 1996 for a very successful reunion tour. Frehley's second stint lasted until 2002 as Ace returned to his solo career.

As one of the architects of KISS, Ace not only contributed musically, but he was also the man responsible for designing the legendary KISS logo, among other things.
