AC/DC: New album update

There’s been talk that AC/DC will release a new album in 2013 as the band celebrates its 40th anniversary.

Video has just surfaced of an interview with bassist Cliff Williams that Gus Griesinger from Backstage Axxess did at the NAMM (National Association Of Music Merchants) convention in January, where the bassist talked about his deal with Ampeg amplifiers, his leisure time fishing in Florida and what is in AC/DC's future.

As for new music and a follow-up to 2008's “Black Ice,” Williams responded: "Nothing in the works right now. We're still getting over the last tour. Just hanging out and doing stuff. I know the guys (guitarists Angus and Malcolm Young) are writing new material and when it's ready they'll give us a holler."

About the AC/DC writing process Williams adds: "(Angus and Malcolm) will get a bunch of ideas together - some are more together than others - then we'll all hit the studio or a little rehearsal room and we'll kick it around with a producer and then get in a studio and record. Right now, Angus and Malcolm aren't ready for us yet."

Last month, as AC/DC expanded the launch of their own beer, “AC/DC Premium Lager,” a check of the website’s news section revealed a report that Triple M Australia had confirmed both a new album and tour were set to happen this year – check out the item here.
