VIDEO: Iron Maiden’s The Trooper covered by 2 Cellos

2Cellos have released a cover of Iron Maiden’s 1983 classic, “The Trooper.”

The tune is the latest single from the Croatian duo of Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser, who have made a name for themselves worldwide with the release of several YouTube videos featuring versions of past hits by international artists.

“The Trooper Overture” combines elements of Gioachino Rossini's "William Tell Overture" with the Maiden single.

“This is a pretty sweet cover,” posted Iron Maiden.

2Cellos first caught the attention of music fans around the globe in 2011 with their dueling cellos version of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal," which went on to receive more than 5 million hits on YouTube in less than 3 months.

The duo’s profile then caught the attention of Elton John, who invited them to join him on tour.

2Cellos have released two albums to date, including their self-titled debut in 2011 and 2013’s “in2ition.”
