Sammy Hagar and James Hetfield to host second Acoustic 4 A Cure benefit concert



Sammy Hagar and Metallica frontman James Hetfield will host the second annual "Acoustic-4-A-Cure" benefit concert at The Masonic in San Francisco on May 15.

The event – which benefits the Pediatric Cancer Program at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital – will see acoustic performances by the hosts and a lineup that includes Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains, Pat Monahan from Train, Linda Perry, Joe Satriani, Red Hot Chili Peppers/Chickenfoot drummer Chad Smith and more.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, April 10 at 10:00 AM at LiveNation.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, or charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000.

All proceeds from the concert will be donated to fund children's brain tumor research at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, one of the nation's leading children's medical facilities.

The inaugural 2014 event included sets from Satriani, Monahan, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong and Heart's Nancy Wilson.

Hagar’s latest supergroup, The Circle – featuring Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnsonwill issue their debut/live record, “At Your Service”, on May 19.

The band launch a US tour on April 11 in Las Vegas.

Hetfield and Metallica are currently in the studio working on the follow-up to 2008’s “Death Magnetic.”

The group return to live action May 9 when they headline the inaugural Rock In Rio USA festival in Las Vegas.
