Iron Maiden to launch mobile game Legacy Of The Beast

Iron Maiden will launch a free-to-play role playing game, Legacy Of The Beast, this summer on iOS and Android platforms.

Players take on the role of the band's mascot, Eddie, in his various forms - each with unique abilities – to explore new worlds, travel through time, and battle a cast of characters from the catalogue of Maiden's albums and art.

Iron Maiden provide the soundtrack to Legacy Of The Beast, with tracks from the veteran UK metal band's entire career, including previously unheard live recordings of classics adapted for the game by engineer Tony Newton and bassist and founding member Steve Harris.

"We always thought Maiden's music and imagery with Eddie could be perfect for gaming,” explains Harris, “and it's something we have been looking at doing again since Ed Hunter in 1999. Now in 2016 it can all be done on a smartphone which makes it even more accessible for all our fans and also all the gamers out there."

The group teamed with Roadhouse Interactive and 50cc Games for the project; more information is available at ironmaidenlegacy.com

Iron Maiden will launch a world tour in support of 2015’s double-album, “The Book Of Souls”, with three US concerts starting February 24 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

The band recently announced plans to play their first-ever concerts in China this spring – including dates in Beijing and Shanghai – with tickets on sale on January 19.
