The Magpie Salute announce UK and European tour

The Black Crowes offshoot The Magpie Salute have announced dates for a fall tour of the UK and Europe in support of their just-released debut studio album, “High Water I.”

Led by guitarist Rich Robinson, the band will perform 26 shows in 10 different countries during the month-long run, which will open in Paris, France on November 10 with the series wrapping up in London on December 11.

Tickets for the winter tour will go on sale on Friday, August 24 via the usual outlets.

Formed in 2016, The Magpie Salute features Robinson alongside former Crowes bandmates Marc Ford and Sven Pipien, and vocalist John Hogg, keyboardist Matt Slocum and drummer Joe Magistro.

The group’s original lineup included former Black Crowes keyboardist Eddie Harsch, who passed away in the fall of 2016.

Robinson produced “High Water I”, which was recorded at Dark Horse Studios in Nashville, TN.

“It’s the recontextualization of playing with one another,” explains the guitarist. “When I was putting this thing together, I was thinking about how even though we may not have played for almost a decade, it just comes back immediately. The chemistry is unexplainable.

“Of course, I’m the same guy who played with the Black Crowes and wrote all of those songs, but this is a different context for myself, Marc, and Sven. It’s the convergence of three different worlds and eras for me. We’re all here together in this one place. Simultaneously, it’s amazing for Marc and Sven to play with Joe and Matt and John to be in the middle of it all. For me, that was really cool to witness. This is what I wanted to do.”
