Judas Priest and Soundgarden among top Rock Hall fan votes

Judas Priest and Soundgarden are among the top 5 acts that will comprise a fan ballot for the 2020 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

The Dave Matthews Band led the fan ballot with more than a million votes, followed by Pat Benatar, The Doobie Brothers, Soundgarden and Judas Priest; the ballot will represent one vote for each of the artists that will be tallied alongside those by members of the music industry.

To be eligible for nomination, an individual artist or band must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.

“A huge metal thank you to our Priest family for voting & defending Judas Priest in the fan vote for RRHoF 2020,” says the band. “We made and stayed in the top five fan votes through your love and support. Whatever the outcome we are blessed having the best metal fans in the world of heavy metal!”

Other rockers placed high in fan voting, including Thin Lizzy in the No. 8 spot, Motorhead at No. 9, Nine Inch Nails at No. 11 and T. Rex at No. 12.

The 2020 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductees will be announced on Wednesday, January 15, while the ceremony will take place at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland, OH on May 2.
