Jimmy Page, Aerosmith and Rush are just a few of the rockers saluting Metallica on the band’s 30th Anniversary.
Metallica celebrated the occasion in style with a series of fan-club only shows last week at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco.
The event brought together everyone from the Metallica family tree, plus a variety of special guests including Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, Kid Rock, Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne and Geezer Butler, Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains and many, many others.
”What a celebration it must be, with all your fans there, of the 30 years of your contribution to some of the best rock around,” said Page.
“I’m thrilled that you’re still around, thrilled that you’re still active and still trailblazing; you guys completely epitomize metal and God bless you for it,” offered Brian May of Queen.
“You guys have been my favorite heavy metal band ever since 1986, when I saw you guys opening for Ozzy Osbourne and playing ‘For Whom The Bell Tolls,’” says Slash.
