Metallica Night at AT&T Park in San Francisco this Friday (May 3) has added a National Anthem Guitar Auction to the event.
For starters, Metallica will be on hand to kick off the San Francisco Giants’ home-opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers by performing the National Anthem and throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.
As part of the festivities, fans can bid on one, or both, of the custom-made Giants guitars played during the anthem by Metallica members James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett.
The Hetfield axe is a one-of-a-kind custom-made ESP "Snakebite" Giants guitar, while Hammett’s is one-of-a-kind custom-made ESP "KH2 Vintage" Giants guitar; both will be signed by all four Metallica members for the auction.
Proceeds from the auction will be split 50/50 between The Giants Community Fund and The Bill Graham Memorial Foundation.
More details on the auction, the bidding deadline and a proxy bid form can be found here.
