Sammy Hagar announces new album



Sammy Hagar has announced details of his forthcoming album, “Sammy Hagar And Friends.”

Due September 24, the project sees the Red Rocker teaming up with a variety of artists, including Kid Rock, Nancy Wilson (Heart), Ronnie Dunn (Brooks & Dunn), Neal Schon (Journey, HSAS), Chickenfoot pals Chad Smith, Michael Anthony and Joe Satriani; Montrose bandmates Bill Church and Denny Carmassi, his solo band The Wabos and more on a collection of 10 new songs and covers.

New Hagar originals include “Knockdown Dragout” (Kid Rock), “Bad On Fords And Chevrolets” (Dunn), “All We Need Is An Island” (Wilson), “Going Down” (Schon, Anthony and Smith), and “Father Sun,” a duet with his son Aaron Hagar.

Also featured are covers of Bob Seger’s “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man” and Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus.”

“Sammy Hagar And Friends” is the Red Rockers’ first solo album since 2008, and it comes on the heels of his “Four Decades Of Rock” summer tour which kicks off July 26th in Tucson and wraps September 7th in his hometown of San Francisco. The 14-city tour will features tunes from Hagar’s 40-year recording career, including hits from Van Halen, Montrose, Chickenfoot and his solo projects.
