Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx has taken on actor Kirk Cameron over his gay-bashing comments on Piers Morgan’s CNN show.
Cameron, an evangelical Christian, spoke out against homosexuality during his appearance on CNN last Friday, calling it “unnatural. I think that it's, it's detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization."
"Marriage is almost as old as dirt, and it was defined in the garden between Adam and Eve,” said Cameron. “One man, one woman for life 'till death do you part. So do I support the idea of gay marriage? No, I don't."
Sixx stepped up to voice his opinion with a series of tweets on the weekend, calling Cameron “a**hole of the week.”
“I get the 'Freedom of speech' tweets from you guys,” wrote Sixx in another post. “I just have a really hard time accepting people bashing gay marriage. Love Is Love.”
Cameron was a child star on TV’s “Growing Pains” in his teens, and has spent much of his adult life launching his own religious programs and networks.
