Green Day offered fans a sneak peek of their forthcoming album, “¡Uno!,” on Thursday, as they shared a video preview and the album’s artwork.
The project is the first in a recently-announced trilogy, which features albums entitled ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡TrĂ©!.
“We are at the most prolific and creative time in our lives. This is the best music we've ever written, and the songs just keep coming,” said the band. “Instead of making one album, we are making a three album trilogy. Every song has the power and energy that represents Green Day on all emotional levels. We just can't help ourselves... We are going epic as fuck!"
The albums are the follow-up to 2009’s “21st Century Breakdown,” and are being produced by the band’s long-time associate Rob Cavallo.
The discs will be issued in stages, with “¡Uno!,” set for release on September 25.
