VIDEO: Pianist performs John Lennon’s Imagine outside Paris club

German musician Davide Martello performed John Lennon’s 1971 classic, “Imagine”, outside the Bataclan club in Paris, France on Saturday following a terrorist attack during an Eagles Of Death Metal Show at the venue on Friday evening.

According to the video poster, “He pulled his piano with a bike up to rue Richard Lenoir ten meters from the Bataclan, the theater last night was the scene of the bloodiest terrorist attacks in Paris. Then he began to play the notes of 'Imagine' by John Lennon.”

“Paris — I feel with you,” Martello posted on Facebook after his solo performance. “Let’s stand together for a free and peaceful world.”

At least 80 people are confirmed dead following an assault on the club during the Friday night concert, one of several sites attacked by religious extremists.

Latest reports indicate 129 people were killed and hundreds injured in the co-ordinated series of attacks.

France has closed its borders following the incident as they investigate those responsible.

The Foo Fighters have cancelled the remaining dates on their European tour following the attacks, while U2 cancelled a pair of shows in the city this weekend – including a live HBO concert broadcast planned for Saturday.
