The US and UK Top 40 hit was originally the second single from the “Slip Of The Tongue” album, which is one of three records featured on the set, alongside 1984’s “Slide It In” and 1987’s “Whitesnake”, as well as other deep cuts and rarities.
The 2022 project contains updated versions of classic tracks like “Still Of The Night,” “Here I Go Again,” and “Is This Love.”
“Greatest Hits” is now available on digital and streaming services worldwide, alongside CD, 2LP and CD/Blu-ray editions .
Whitesnake recently cancelled the remaining dates of a European tour due to “continuing health challenges.”
“It is with the deepest sadness that I must announce that due to continuing health challenges, doctor’s orders, and our concern for everyone’s health and safety, Whitesnake is unable to continue its European Farewell Tour,” announced David Coverdale on social media on July 1. “I extend my sincere apologies to All of Whitesnake’s Amazing Fans who have been looking forward to the remaining scheduled shows of this tour, All of our Amazing, Fabulous Snakes & tour personnel who have been working so hard to put on these shows, and All of the promoters and other professionals who have helped set up the tour…I Appreciate & Love You All!!!”
The shutdown followed a series of issues experienced by band members, including Coverdale, who was put on doctor’s rest after being diagnosed with an infection of the sinus and trachea.
Whitesnake – who launched the farewell tour in Dublin, Ireland on May 10 – are currently scheduled to begin a North American tour in Hampton Beach, NH on August 17.
