Motley Crue to receive Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award

Vince Neil is currently in jail, Nikki Sixx is busy expanding his radio business and releasing a new album/companion book, Tommy Lee is out on a DJ tour, and who knows how Mick Mars spends his time away from the stage.

Either way, when the four come together as Motley Crue, there’s some serious power at the ready, as the famed Sunset Strip band marks its 30th Anniversary this year.

With the Crue set to regroup soon for a 2011 tour, they have also made headlines this week as honorees at the 3rd Annual Revolver Golden God Awards.

Billed as America’s only hard rock and heavy metal awards, the organizers are honoring the career of Motley Crue by giving them the first-ever Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award - renamed in honor of the late, great 2010 Best Vocalist Award winner.

The 3rd Annual Revolver Golden God Awards will take place Wednesday, April 20, at Club Nokia in Downtown Los Angeles. The event will be televised on VH1 Classic on May 28.

The Crue are set to kick off their 2011 tour at the Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, New Jersey on April 29.
