hennemusic is helping rock fans get warmed up for Super Bowl 48 in New Jersey this weekend with a look back at some of the rockers who have played at America’s most-watched annual sporting event.

Paul McCartney performed the halftime show for Super Bowl 39 at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida on February 6, 2005.

McCartney played a mix of Beatles classics and a Wings track, performing “Drive My Car”, “Get Back”, “Live And Let Die” and “Hey Jude.”

Super Bowl 39 saw the New England Patriots defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21, becoming the first team since the 1997–1998 Denver Broncos to win consecutive championships. New England also became the second team after the Dallas Cowboys to win three Super Bowls in four years.
