Van Halen: David Lee Roth joins Twitter and Facebook

The Diamond One is online.

Van Halen’s David Lee Roth has hopped on board both Twitter (here) and Facebook (here), with a similar post to each, over the weekend:

“Get ready…”

It’s not much, for sure, but is one the most public displays by anything Van Halen in ages, while the band remains in seclusion, reportedly working on securing a new record deal for their comeback album with Roth at the helm.

Other than that, the VH camp remains hush-hush, as usual.

Last month, music industry website HitsDailyDouble reported VH would be signing with Columbia Records, after spending its entire 35-year career at Warner Brothers; this remains unconfirmed, pending official word from the band and/or label.

The story also mentioned the new album would be released early next year, which seems odd: why would VH and/or its new label miss the Christmas shopping season and release the biggest rock record in years AFTER the holidays?

Stay tuned…
