Van Halen top the hennemusic Hot 10

At a first glance at this week’s hennemusic Hot 10, you’d be hard pressed to tell it was 2011, as Van Halen, Aerosmith, Guns N’ Roses and other classic rock acts fill the list, but it’s VH that comes out on top of the HH10 this week.

VH fans continue to anxiously await updates on the status of the band’s first album in more than a dozen years and first in more than a quarter century with signer David Lee Roth. All remains silent in the VH camp, but rumors continue that the project is moving ahead behind the scenes, as an album update tops the HH10.

The HH10 is a list of the most-viewed rock news stories in the past week by hennemusic readers.

Are you ready for some football!????! Lots of people are, as the NFL kicked off its season this past weekend, with some help from Kid Rock – that video landed at #5.

Other big rock news stories of the week included another US date on the calendar this fall for Guns N’ Roses (#6); video of Pearl Jam’s full set from Day 1 of their PJ20 Destination Weekend (#7); a last-minute Def Leppard US TV schedule change/update (#8); American Idol rocker James Durbin scores a record deal with Wind Up Records, with his debut due this fall (#9); and, at #10, Roger Daltrey stops by The Tonight Show to kick out a Who classic from "Tommy" before he launches his 6-week North American tour, which starts this week.
