VIDEO: Green Day smash gear after iHeartRadio Fest set cut short

Green Day smashed their equipment and stormed off stage when their set was reportedly cut short at the iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas Friday night.

During the band's performance of their 1994 smash, “Basket Case,” frontman Billie Joe Armstrong stopped the song and went into an onstage rant after being prompted by a one-minute warning – via teleprompter - to wrap up their set.

"I'm going to play a f---ing new song," he said. "F--- this sh-t. Gimme a f---ing break. One minute left. One minute f---ing left. You're going to give me f---king one minute?!?"

“Look at that f---ing sign right there…one minute,”
continued Armstrong, pointing out the prompter to the fans. “Let me tell you something: I’ve been around since f---ing 1988 and you’re going to give me one f---ing minute?!? You’ve got to be f---ing kidding me!”

“What the f---! I'm not f---ing Justin Bieber, you mother----ers,” Billie Joe ranted, clearly in the direction of the producers. “You've got to be f---ing joking. I got one minute. One minute left,” at which point the time disappeared off the prompter completely. “Now I got nothing left.”

“Let me show you what one f---ing minute means,” he added before smashing his guitar at center stage, as bassist Mike Dirnt joined in, trashing his own instrument.

Armstrong then flipped the producers the finger, saying “One minute,” before telling the fans, “God f---ing love you all. We’ll be back,” as he tossed his microphone into the air and the band stormed off stage.

Rumour has it that Green Day’s set was cut short in order to give Usher more time.

On Tuesday, Green Day will release “¡Uno!,” the first in a trilogy of new albums; the companion projects “¡Dos!,” and “¡Tré!” will surface November 13 and January 15th, 2013, respectively.
