Ozzy Osbourne has cancelled upcoming plans to visit Switzerland for medical treatment for his Parkinson’s disease due to restrictions during the global health crisis.
"We had to cancel our trip to Switzerland,” Ozzy’s wife and manager Sharon Osbourne shared on the March 30 edition of the daily CBS-TV series The Talk. “We were meant to go on the 8th of April, but we had to cancel, for his treatment.
"We're just hanging in, like everybody else, just trying to stay away and be quiet and just hold it in there. But I honestly find this such frightening times. I just think it's a really, really frightening time to be alive. I'm not one of these people [who are], like, 'Oh, I'm bonding with all these people,' and, 'This is amazing.' I'm not that way. I cry every day when I watch the death toll go up and more and more people catch this virus and I'm just devastated by it. For me, I'm hearthbroken."
In February, Ozzy released his first new studio album in a decade; “Ordinary Man” sees him teamed with producer and guitarist Andrew Watt, Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.
Metallica are streaming video of a complete 2017 concert in Paris, France as the latest edition of their series “Metallica Mondays.”
The group were filmed during the first of two nights at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris on September 8, where they delivered the WorldWired tour debut of their cover of the Misfits track, “Last Caress”, which appeared on their 1987 EP “The $5.98 E.P.: Garage Days Re-Revisited”, as well as the 1998 compilation, “Garage Inc.”
The newly-launched weekly series – which debuted with footage of a 2019 show at the iconic Slane Castle in Meath, Ireland – sees the band premiere full concert footage every Monday at 8 p.m. ET on their YouTube and Facebook feeds.
“While we’re all doing our part and staying home, we find ourselves missing live music, so how about we dive back into a few of our favorite shows at a socially responsible distance?”, says Metallica. “Not to sound too cheesy, but now more than ever, we’re in this together, and staying connected is how we’ll get through it. With that in mind, we’re bringing a series of Live Metallica shows right to your couch!”
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong is continuing a weekly cover song series from home during the coronavirus pandemic with a classic track by former New York Dolls guitarist Johnny Thunders.
“Welcome to No Fun Mondays,” says Armstrong. “Going to release a cover song every week until we’re let back out into the world. This week’s song: ‘You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory’ by Johnny Thunders.”
The tune – which has been covered by everyone from Guns N’ Roses to Michael Monroe to the Hollywood Vampires – originally appeared on the Thunders’ 1978 album, “So Alone.”
It’s the second cover tune issued by Armstrong, following his take on the Tommy James and the Shondells classic, "I Think We're Alone Now."
Green Day are currently scheduled to return to the road in late May in support of their latest album, “Father Of All”, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
Queen and Adam Lambert have postponed and rescheduled their upcoming UK and European Rhapsody tour due to the on-going global coronavirus outbreak.
The 2020 tour was due to start in Italy on May 24, with the itinerary also including a massive run of 10 London O2 concerts as well as a pair of shows each in Manchester and Birmingham, before further mainland Europe dates were set to conclude with two Madrid shows on July 7 and 8.
The decision has been made with the safety of audiences, band, crew and venue staff in mind and with close on 400,000 tickets sold across the tour, was not a decision taken lightly.
In sync with news of the postponement, Queen and Lambert have announced newly-rescheduled dates for spring and summer of 2021.
All tickets will be valid for the rescheduled show dates; ticket holders are advised to contact their point of purchase for information on ticket exchanges for the 2021 dates.
“We’re very sad to announce the postponement of our summer shows in Europe,” says guitarist Brian May, “although, in the present crazy state of the world, it cannot be a surprise to our fans. Those incredible scenes at our concerts just over a month ago now seem like an impossibly distant dream. We were so lucky to be able to complete that tour, running just ahead of the wave that was about to break on us. I know many of our fans are having similar moments of disbelief and bewilderment out there.
“Of course, we would have gone ahead with the dates had it been humanly possible. The good news is that we do NOW have a PLAN B ready to roll. If you hold on to your tickets they will be valid for the rescheduled shows. God willing, we will be there with bells on!”
“We’re all in this together,” adds drummer Roger Taylor. “Devastating! Boringly frustrating! Scary and upsetting! But...pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down...start all over again!!! Be well....take care...coming right back at you as soon as we possibly can!!!"
“I am very disappointed that we won’t be touring Europe as planned,” comments Lambert, “but we have to look after each other and put everyone’s health first. Look forward to getting out there when it’s safe.” Queen and Adam Lambert Rhapsody tour

Clutch have released a new monster-themed digital compilation featuring a collection of tracks from their extensive catalog.
“Monsters, Machines, And Mythological Beasts” presents ten tunes recorded by the Maryland outfit between 1999 and their latest studio effort, 2018’s “Book Of Bad Decisions.”
“Many Clutch songs are inspired by, or make reference to, monsters, machines, and mythological beasts,” explains vocalist Neil Fallon. “That’s because my parents never allowed me to bring a copy of Heavy Metal magazine into their house. But I figured out some workarounds. I’m still doing the same."
Clutchrecently postponed their upcoming tour of South America during the coronavirus pandemic; the three-show series was set to feature the band’s first live dates in Argentina and Chile alongside a return trip to Brazil.
"Due to the recent Covid-19 virus and following recommendation from the health authorities,” says Clutch, “aiming the safety and well-being of all our fans, we decided to postpone our Latin America tour that would happen in the end of April.
“We’ll announce the new dates in the near future, once we all have a better understanding of the situation and the epidemic is under control.”
“All the tickets purchased will remain valid for the new dates,” adds the group. “Remember that keeping your ticket for the new dates will help bands, producers and everyone else involved in the music business going through these hard times.
“If you choose to get the money back, you need to get in touch with the point of purchase."

John Fogerty can be seen performing a pair of Creedence Clearwater Revival classics in his latest home video concert footage.
“To all you hard-working people out there, here's a little song to brighten your day,” says the rocker alongside the band’s 1969 smash, “Proud Mary”, and steps outside for a stripped down version of 1970’s “Lookin’ Out My Back Door”; both songs peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Fogerty recently played three CCR tracks during one of the first episodes of Rolling Stone’s new home video concert series, “In My Room.”
“These are certainly different times that we’re living through,” said the guitarist last week. “Wash your hands … stay safe, everybody. Nobody really knows how long this is going to last, but the better we do at taking the advice of medical people, the shorter it will be.”
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong performed a stripped-down acoustic version of the “American Idiot” smash, “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams”, from his home during a coronavirus relief concert broadcast Sunday evening on Fox-TV.
Hosted by Elton John, the iHeart Living Room Concert For America featured a number of artists delivering unique versions of their hits during the hour-long special, which was designed to entertain and inform the public with information regarding safety during the pandemic while raising funds for Feeding America and the First Responders Children’s Foundation.
“I hope everybody’s happy and healthy,” said Armstrong off the top. “I just wanted to say it’s an honor to be playing for everybody right now.”
The second single issued from “American Idiot”, “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams” was a top 10 hit in several countries – including a US No. 2 – on its way to worldwide sales of more than 5 million copies.
Other performers during the hour-long special included Dave Grohl, Billie Eilish, Alicia Keys and Sam Smith.
Dave Grohl performed an acoustic version of the Foo Fighters’ 1997 classic, “My Hero”, during the iHeart Living Room Concert For America broadcast on Fox-TV on Sunday.
The song originally appeared on the band’s second album, “The Colour And The Shape”, which peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 on its way to US sales of more than 2 million copies.
Grohl dedicated his performance to “all the people out there on the frontlines that are doing their best to get us through all of this” during the special hosted by Elton John and featuring in-home performances by Alicia Keys, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Billie Elish, Mariah Carey and others.
The Foo Fighters recently postponed the April dates on their upcoming 25th anniversary Van Tour of North America, while five shows planned for May currently remain on the schedule.
KISS has announced rescheduled dates for its South American tour.

The revised month-long series will now begin in Brasilia, Brazil on November 10; a new date for the Paraguay concert will be announced soon.
KISS are set to resume their world tour with a summer European run that will open in Paris, France on June 9.

Sammy Hagar And The Circle are streaming video of a new tune, “Funky Feng Shui”, that they recorded remotely from each other as part of a Lockdown Challenge.
Filmed on their phones, Jason Bonham started with the drums in his first Instagram post, then challenged Vic Johnson to add guitar; Vic then passed it on to Michael Anthony, and Sammy added his vocals to complete the song.
“Funky Feng Shui” started as a backstage jam that the band have been playing while warming up for shows.
"The Circle will be doing more of this,” says Hagar, “it’s too much fun!"
Hagar And The Circle recently cancelled a series of shows this month planned for South America as part of a tour in support of their debut studio record, “Space Between.”
The band are currently still scheduled to begin a summer US tour with Night Ranger in early July; original co-headlinersWhitesnake were forced to cancel their 2020 schedule while David Coverdale awaits the opportunity to have hernia surgery.
KISS frontman Paul Stanley is streaming a home video explaining the origins of the band’s 1977 track, “Love Gun”, during his extended isolation as part of the coronavirus pandemic.
“I’ve been inside now for 17 or 18 days because that’s what medical people – the experts – are saying we should do,” begins the rocker. “Try to take some of the strain off the doctors and all the hospital workers ... try to flatten that curve – that’s what they’re telling us, so that’s what I’ve been doing.
“A big thanks to all the people who are on the front lines trying to get us through this.”
Stanley shares his inspiration behind the title track to KISS’ sixth studio record, which began with seeing a local group performing some Led Zeppelin-style riffing that led to the opening lyric for his own song.
A staple at KISS shows through the years, the “Love Gun” single peaked at No. 61 on the Billboard Hot 100 while the album reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 on its way to US sales of more than a million copies.
KISSrecently postponed the final three dates of their spring US tour as the global health crisis continues to affect public gatherings, including the live music industry.
KISS are currently scheduled to resume the farewell tour with concerts in Central and South America that start in late April.
“The April and May stops on The Who’s Moving On! Tour are proactively being rescheduled to the fall/autumn out of an abundance of caution,”says the band. “As soon as we have the dates finalized, we’ll share the updated schedule, and all tickets will be honoured accordingly. Thank you for your understanding.
“Both Pete and Roger – and the rest of The Who band – cannot wait to get out there and be with you all and share in some great music. Long live rock.”
The spring series – which was to see Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend once again joined by local symphony orchestras – was set to include a May residency at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, NV and, notably, the band’s first appearance in the Cincinnati, OH area since eleven lives were tragically lost as the concert crowd waited to get into The Who’s show there on December 3, 1979.
The 2020 tour was to be in support of the band’s recently-released “Who” album, which debuted at No. 2 in the US.
The latest concert news follows the group’s recently-announced rescheduled dates for their UK and Ireland tour, which has been moved to March of 2021; all tickets for the original dates remain valid. See also:
Megadeth leader Dave Mustaine is mourning the passing of his older sister Michelle.
“My friends, I have sad news to share with you today,” wrote the guitarist on social media on March 26 alongside a photo of the pair. “My sister Michelle has passed away. I was truly lucky to have a sister like her.
“Rest in peace, my dear Michelle.”
No details surrounding Michelle's passing have been made available at this time.
Mustaine and Megadeth are currently on hiatus from the road due to the global health crisis; the band are planning to resume their live schedule in June when they begin a co-headlining tour of North America with Lamb Of God.
The guitarist recently returned to the stage for shows earlier this year following his diagnosis and recovery from throat cancer. See also:
The tune was one of a handful of songs not issued as a single from their fourth album, which the band performed in full during a December 2018 appearance as captured on “Hysteria At The O2”, one of two concert films – alongside “Hits Vegas, Live At Planet Hollywood” – on the new set.
Produced by Mutt Lange, “Hysteria” went on to become Def Leppard’s biggest-selling album, with worldwide sales of 25 million copies, including 12 million in the US alone.
“London To Vegas” will be issued in multiple formats, including limited edition 2Blu-ray+4CD, 2DVD+4CD and digital format releases.
Packaged in a 10” box with a 40-page hardback book, the set is rounded out with audio from both concerts.
Originally set to be issued April 24, the group has changed its schedule during the global health crisis.
“Due to the current situation regarding COVID-19,”says Def Leppard, “we have decided to postpone the release date of all the London To Vegas formats to May 29th.
Roger Waters has postponed his This Is Not A Drill North American tour due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“I’ve had to postpone my tour until next year,” says Waters. “Bummer, but if it saves one life, it’s worth it.”
The three-month series – which was to see the bassist performing in the round for the first time – was scheduled to begin July 8 in Pittsburgh, PA.
Ticketholders are advised to hold onto their original tickets and await further information.
“It’ll be a new show. It will be no-holds-barred,” shared Waters when announcing the tour. “My work is to think, ‘Well, how can I make rock & roll more interesting or theatrical or exciting or visual or musical or whatever?’ That’s what I’ve spent the last 50 years doing, expressing myself.”
This Is Not A Drill was scheduled to play venues not seen on the 2017 Us + Them tour, including New York City, Cincinnati, Raleigh, Orlando, Minneapolis, San Francisco, and Salt Lake City. See also:

Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets are streaming video of a 2019 performance of the vintage 1969 Pink Floyd track, “Green Is The Colour”, as the latest preview to their forthcoming package “Live At The Roundhouse.”
The tune originally appeared on the UK band’s soundtrack to the 1969 film, “More.”
“Live At The Roundhouse” presents Mason’s outfit in concert at the legendary London venue last spring during the group’s first tour as they delivered music that had rarely been featured in Pink Floyd’s live shows since their early days.
Originally scheduled to be issued on April 17, the project has been moved to a September 18 release date “due to the current situation and considering the well-being of our fans,” says the band.
“First of all, Nick, Gary, Guy, Lee and Dom are all thinking of you and your families at this very challenging and worrying time,” says the group on social media. “They wish you all the very best, and hope you all stay safe and stay well. Once things return to some sense of normality, they're really looking forward to playing for you, and hearing what you think of ‘Live At The Roundhouse’ once it is in your hands.
“Based on some social comments concerning the release date of ‘Live At The Roundhouse’ changing, the band, and Sony Music, wanted to offer some further clarification of the reasons:
• At such extraordinary times they want to do all they can to help, prioritizing post / deliveries for vital supplies & limiting interaction for these very important delivery workers to ensure everyone's safety
• Sony's main warehouse has been placed on lockdown with no date confirmed for re-opening so they cannot complete the manufacture, or supply stock, on this or indeed any other Sony release currently
• Music retailers, particularly small, independent stores, will be hit hard by these closures and we want to support them by issuing this at a time where each store can be open for customers. Additionally to this, Amazon has informed all record companies non-essential products like CDs and DVDs will not be prioritized and may not be shipped
“At this difficult time we want to support our fans, and the wider public, and safeguard their health. We are planning to release some more new full song videos digitally for you all to enjoy starting this week so stay tuned for further details and most importantly, stay safe.”
Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets recently postponed their upcoming spring tour of the UK and Europe amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Neil Young performed a number of rare tracks in the second installment of his new live streaming series.
“Fireside Sessions is back for more,” shared Young. “Come hang out. Free to all during these times.”
Like last week’s debut episode, the footage of the rocker was filmed by his wife, actress/director Daryl Hannah, at the couple’s home.
As Rolling Stone notes, the latest edition opens with Young stepping outside to play the Ian and Sylvia Tyson classic, “Four Strong Winds,” before returning to a piano indoors for his “After The Gold Rush” ballad, “Birds”, and switching back to guitar for the title track to 1974’s “On The Beach”, which he hasn’t delivered solo on acoustic since 2003 and only the fourth time he’s done it since 1975.
Young plays the 1974 studio outtake, “Homefires”, and then the “Harvest” cut, “Words”, which writer Andy Greene suggest might possibly be the first time he’s ever done the epic song without a band; he wraps up the night with “Love And Only Love” from “Ragged Glory”, another one he’s never done solo acoustic.
“Homegrown vinyl in the house right now. Finished records!”, writes the singer. "Homegrown is all analog! The purest sound. Hear the vinyl. Get a nice phonograph player. This is the record to do that on! My first ever narration with Ben ‘Longgrain’ Keith and live sound effects. Some beautiful music and fun rocking’ songs as well.
"This is the one that got away. I am stoked to share this with you.” See also:
Megadeth leader Dave Mustaine and his daughter Electra can be seen covering The Beatles’ classic, “Come Together”, in a new Instagram video.
“Right now... QUARANTINE!,” writes Electra. “Here’s a lil’ #MyMusicMoment with my dad, @davemustaine, someone who I’d never want to lose! THAT is why the Mustaine’s stay home. We hope you do too!๐ค๐ก ๐งผ Wash your hands, ๐ท practice social distancing, ๐ & stay healthy."
The Instagram video post also sees Mustaine’s daughter sharing details about “Music Moments”, a new project featuring covers of classic tunes by a variety of artists in support of The Alzheimer's Association; Dave’s late mother-in-law, 76-year-old Sally Estabrook, was in the "severe" stage of Alzheimer's when she went missing and was found dead in November 2014.
