Steven Tyler tops the hennemusic Hot 10

Steven Tyler’s decision, a year ago, to crank up the profile of “Brand Tyler” is certainly working, as he tops the hennemusic Hot 10 this week.

Tyler teamed up with Carrie Underwood at the Country Music Awards for a dual duet: one of Carrie’s songs, followed by an Aerosmith classic. The two worked in tandem and wowed the crowd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and viewers at home.

News of Tyler’s plan to include his new single, “Oxygen (Feels So Good),” with copies of his upcoming autobiography landed the Aerosmith frontman in the #5 slot this week, as well.

The HH10 is a list of the most-viewed rock news stories in the past week by hennemusic readers.

A massive project by Metallica fans to create and package a 30th Anniversary special was the 2nd most-read rock news story of the week. The 2.5 hour documentary covers every inch of Metallica territory, and is a must-watch for fans.

Vince Neil continues to get himself in trouble in his transplanted hometown of Vegas, as police there have charged the Motley Crue singer with domestic violence and disorderly conduct following a recent incident Neil caused with his ex-girlfriend.

Exciting new music from Robbie Robertson this week, as his new album, “How To Become Clairvoyant,” hit stores; the day of its release, the music legend played live on Letterman’s show.

Another interesting story was the success of the marketing plan by retailer Best Buy to place Guns N’ Roses in its bargain bin, offering consumers “Chinese Democracy” for just $1.99; the move was enough to sell three times the number of albums from the previous week, which helped put it back on the US charts…barely.
