MetClub members could see individual shows at the legendary venue (capacity 1,200) for $6, or all four for $19.81, in honor of the 30 year mark.
On Monday, the band kicked off the first of four nights with a bunch of special guests, including Jason Newsted, John Marshall (Metal Church), Sean Harris and Brian Tatler (Diamond Head), Biff Byford (Saxon) and Apocalyptica.
MC’d by comedian Jim Breuer, Metallica was preceded on stage by three opening acts: The Soul Rebels brass band, Finnish cello rockers Apocalyptica, and a salute to Ray Burton, the 86-year-old father of the late Cliff Burton.
Metallica play the Fillmore again on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
