Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed top the hennemusic Hot 10

It took 28 years and a little bit of televised therapy, but Gene Simmons of KISS was finally coaxed into proposing to Shannon Tweed, a story which tops this week’s hennemusic Hot 10.

The Simmons-Tweed marriage happened Saturday in Beverly Hills, but fans looking for info on the ceremony managed to resurrect a month-old new story featuring Gene’s proposal, shooting it to #1.

There are fresh stories for readers to check out on the marriage event itself, so check the hennemusic headlines for updated news.

The HH10 is a list of the most-viewed rock news stories in the past week by hennemusic readers.

Jimmy Fallon’s Pink Floyd week was a huge hit with hennemusic readers, who pushed four (4) Floyd items into the HH10. Roger Waters teamed with Foo Fighters for a song (#2); Waters spoke about bringing his Wall Live tour back to the States next year (#4); Floyd drummer Nick Mason helped Fallon launch the week, along with a song by The Shins (#6); and, MGMT rocked a psychedelic Floyd classic on the show (#9). Shine on you crazy diamonds.

News of the London Underground banning commercial ads for the Metallica-Lou Reed project is still turning the heads of music fans, as that story stays in the HH10 at #3 this week. Strange to see the ad revenue turned down, given the state of the world economy these days, but most disturbing is that it appears to have been one unidentified person’s doing – no group or committee – but some random person in the LU management system. If the company had shareholders, someone would surely be held accountable for turning down ad revenue, and this censorship by the LU still sounds peculiar on many levels, as a result.

A rockin’ new track by James Durbin lands at #5 this week. Durbin’s “Stand Up” was recorded for the NFL, and it’s adrenaline oomph should help the fist pumping across the league this season. The Durbinators are still about 7 weeks away from the release of James’ debut disc, “Memories Of A Beautiful Disaster,” due November 21 on Wind-Up Records.

Other big stories this week include the Chickenfoot III launch webcast (#7); Guns N’ Roses leading the nominations for the 2012 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame (#8); and video of Slipknot’s full set at Rock In Rio 4 (#10).
