VIDEO: David Gilmour performs on Later with Jools Holland

David Gilmour performed a pair of tracks from his latest album, “Rattle That Lock”, on the BBC’s Later with Jools Holland on Tuesday.

The Pink Floyd guitarist delivered his new single, “Today”, as well as the title track to the release, which landed Gilmour his second solo UK No. 1 album.

"It's thrilling to get a Number 1 album, we all want to hit the top spot, however long we've been at it, I'm delighted," said Gilmour. “I owe a debt of thanks to Polly Samson, for writing lyrics on four Number 1 albums, The Division Bell, On An Island, The Endless River, and now Rattle That Lock, and also to Phil Manzanera, my co-producer on the last three albums.”

Gilmour is in the middle of a five-night stand The Royal Albert Hall in London as he winds down a sold-out 11-date European tour to launch the project.

The guitarist will next perform shows in South America this December ahead of a North American run in the spring of 2016.

“I was about 15 when I saw The Who,” says Plant, “They played some of the town halls in the West Midlands. It was the most exciting and thrilling music scene I’ve ever been to.

“They really kicked ass and they blasted the place to pieces. It was amazing. It was just so animated: four guys were playing the most spectacularly exciting and electrifying music.”

Iggy Pop is also featured in the preview of the film, which will see its premiere in cinemas worldwide on October 7.

The project captures the band at the famed London venue earlier this year as they delivered the final UK concert appearance of their 50th anniversary farewell tour.

AUDIO: Rush preview Roll The Bones from R40 Live concert film

Rush are previewing audio of “Roll The Bones” from their forthcoming concert film, “R40 Live.”

Mixed by David Botrill (Tool, Muse), the title track to the band’s 1991 album was recorded during two shows in the band’s hometown of Toronto in June.

The concerts at the Air Canada Centre marked the first time the band have filmed in their hometown in almost 20 years, dating back to a 1997 recording at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre on the Test For Echo tour.

Prior to that, the group filmed a concert video and later released an accompanying album for the Grace Under Pressure tour in 1984 at Maple Leaf Gardens.

The "R40 Live" version of “Roll The Bones” features a variety of special guests in the rap part of the song, including Jay Baruchel (She’s Out Of My League), Les Claypool (Primus), Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), The Trailer Park Boys, and Jason Segel & Paul Rudd (I Love You, Man).

The "R40 Live" concert film will be released on November 20 with more details to be announced soon.

Named after the band’s 40th anniversary box set, “R40”, the tour may the last one of its size for Rush.

AUDIO: Monster Magnet premiere She Digs That Hole

Monster Magnet are premiering “She Digs That Hole”, a track from their forthcoming album, “Cobras And Fire (The Mastermind Redux).”

Due October 9, the project sees the New Jersey band overhaul their 2010 album, “Mastermind”, much as they did with 2013’s “Last Patrol” for its reissue as “Milking The Stars: A Re-imagining Of Last Patrol.”

"With Cobras And Fire I wanted to present these songs in a much stranger and dirtier atmosphere,” says frontman Dave Wyndorf. “Less ‘classic rock’ and more... well, I'd guess I'd call it a deranged fusion of garage-psych, fuzz punk and movie soundtrack music.

“It's almost completely re-recorded (with the bulk of the guitar and bass playing by co-producer Phil Caivano) and as in Milking The Stars I've added organ, piano, sitars and more to flesh out a completely new sound for these tunes.

“She Digs That Hole” is the third tune previewed from the package following “Mastermind '69" and “Watch Me Fade.”

Black Sabbath announce farewell European tour dates

Black Sabbath have announced European dates for their 2016 farewell world tour.

The 6-week run – which starts in Budapest, Hungary on June 1 – sees a mix of headline and festival appearances, including Belguim’s Graspop, Norway’s Tons Of Rock, and Monsters Of Rock shows in Finland and Sweden.

Billed as “The End”, three-quarters of the original lineup – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butlerwill launch the group’s final live dates in North America on January 20.

The group will play a series of shows in Australia and New Zealand in April in advance of the European concerts.

Guitarist Tony Iommi recently revealed that his cancer issues have brought about the need for the farewell run after five decades on the road.

“I can’t actually do this anymore,” said Iommi. “My body won’t take it much more.”

The 67-year old – who was diagnosed with blood cancer lymphoma in January of 2012 – continues to have regular checkups on the health issue.

“I have finished my courses of treatment,” he says. “Now it’s a case of keeping tabs on things. “I have the blood tests every six weeks, and then there’s a bigger check-up every now and then to make sure that all is still well. I have my next one in a couple of weeks, and hopefully everything will be fine.

“It’s horrible. I even dream about it. But that’s my life now. The surgeon told me he doesn’t expect the cancer to go away. There’s a 30 per cent chance that it could, but more than likely it will come back and it could be any time. I could be here another 10 years or just one year – I don’t know.”

Metallica are sharing footage of a performance of “All Nightmare Long” from a September 14 show in Quebec City.

The tune was the fifth single issued from 2008’s “Death Magnetic”, their first album with producer Rick Rubin. The song was used as the theme for the WWE's 2008 pay-per view event No Mercy.

VIDEO: Mick Jagger sings Satisfaction with Taylor Swift in Nashville

Mick Jagger teamed up with Taylor Swift to perform the Rolling Stones signature tune, “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”, in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday.

“The person I’m about to bring out has been so incredibly kind to me over the years,” said Swift in her introduction. “This person is one of the greatest entertainers of all time … This person has been knighted.”

Jagger’s appearance during the second of two shows at the Bridgestone Arena came a day after the pop/country superstar was joined by Steven Tyler for a version of the Aerosmith hit, “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing.”

Swift previously joined the Rolling Stones in Chicago in 2013 for their 1965 single, “As Tears Go By.”

Keith Richards recently confirmed the band has plans to regroup to record their first new album in a decade.

“I was at a meeting with the lads three or four days ago where everybody said, ‘Yes! We must go in the studio!’”, said Richards. “Where or when I can’t yet say but in the near future. At last I’ve got the boys wanting to get into the studio.

“They all have to want to do it at the same time. That’s the thing with guys - you can’t drag ‘em in at gunpoint - but I’ve got the message that they want to. I’m hopeful, y’know?”

The follow-up to 2005’s “A Bigger Bang” would represent the group’s second album in almost two decades as they have focused more attention to touring in recent years.

David Gilmour scores second UK No. 1 with Rattle That Lock

David Gilmour has scored his second solo UK No. 1 album with “Rattle That Lock.”

The Official Charts Company reports the Pink Floyd guitarist – who last topped the UK charts with 2006’s “On An Island” – debuts at No. 1 and finishes the week nearly 20,000 copies ahead of its nearest competitor, Lana Del Rey’s “Honeymoon.”

"It's thrilling to get a Number 1 album, we all want to hit the top spot, however long we've been at it, I'm delighted," said Gilmour. “I owe a debt of thanks to Polly Samson, for writing lyrics on four Number 1 albums, The Division Bell, On An Island, The Endless River, and now Rattle That Lock, and also to Phil Manzanera, my co-producer on the last three albums. I shall enjoy celebrating this good news tonight by playing at The Royal Albert Hall.”

Gilmour will wrap up a sold-out 11-date European tour early next month following five shows at The Royal Albert Hall before playing dates in South American this December.

He’ll also play a series of North American concerts in 2016, with showss scheduled for Los Angeles, Toronto, Chicago and New York.

Gilmour has just premered a video for “Today”, the latest single from the project.

Directed by Aubrey Powell, the clip features the guitarist in rehearsal for his current world tour alongside footage from a September 5 warm-up show in Brighton, UK.

David Gilmour premieres video for new single Today

David Gilmour is premering the video for “Today”, the latest single from his newly-released album “Rattle That Lock.”

Directed by Aubrey Powell, the clip features the guitarist in rehearsal for his current world tour alongside footage from a September 5 warm-up show in Brighton, UK.

“Today” follows the title track as the second tune issued from the record, which Gilmour worked on with co-producer Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music.

“’Today’ was one of the ones that Phil put together from two or three pieces of music of mine that I had sort of ignored,” explains Gilmour. “He’s very good at finding them and saying, ‘that’s great, you should it … and how about using it with that piece and that piece.’ So he mocked that one up. It’s a gift.”

The Pink Floyd guitarist wraps up a sold-out 11-date European tour early next month following five shows at The Royal Albert Hall in London, with a South American run set for December.

VIDEO: The Who preview Baba O’Riley from Live At Hyde Park

The Who are sharing a performance of “Baba O’Riley” as a preview to their forthcoming concert film, “The Who: Live In Hyde Park.”

The project captures the band at the famed London venue earlier this year as they delivered the final UK concert appearance of their 50th anniversary farewell tour.

The film is set to screen in cinemas worldwide on October 7.

The concert footage is rounded out with interviews featuring Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey, as well as Iggy Pop, Robert Plant, Johnny Marr and more.

Full details on screenings and tickets can be found at TheWhoFilm.com

Last week, The Who postponed all remaining dates on their North American tour as singer Roger Daltrey continues to recover from viral Meningitis.

“We are rescheduling all the shows for next Spring 2016,” says Townshend. “We apologize to all our fans who have supported us in the last 50 years. Once Roger is completely well we will come back stronger than ever and Roger and I will give you all a show to remember.”

The postponement affects almost 30 dates in the fall run.

Tickets for the original dates will be honored for the new shows, which will be announced shortly.

VIDEO: Bruce Springsteen performs with Jackson Browne in New Jersey

Bruce Springsteen joined Jackson Browne to perform a pair of songs during his encore at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ on September 22.

The pair delivered the Browne-co-written Eagles hit, “Take It Easy”, and “Our Lady Of The Well”; both songs appeared on Browne’s 1973 album, “For Everyman.”

Browne is touring in support of his latest release, 2014’s “Standing In The Breach.”

Springsteen’s appearance landed on the day before his 66th birthday.

Since wrapping up his “High Hopes” tour last year, Springsteen has been active with his archival series, which sees the rocker releasing audio from concerts throughout his career.

The series last November with a 2012 live set from New York’s Apollo Theater on the opening night of his tour in support of “Wrecking Ball.” It continued with a legendary 1978 Cleveland concert, a New Year’s Eve 1980 show in Long Island, NY, a 1984 New Jersey performance on the “Born In The USA” tour, and the latest addition - a 1988 show from his “Tunnel Of Love” tour.
