Pearl Jam: Mike McCready previews The Glamour And The Squalor release

Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready is streaming three tunes from the September 1 release of the Original Motion Picture Score for the 2015 film, “The Glamour & The Squalor.”

“You’re The Song” features guest vocals by Kim Virant, formerly of 90s-era Seattle rockers Lazy Susan.

McCready teams up with Troy Nelson and Mackenzie Mercer, two members of the Seattle band The Young Evils, on “Sean Mac On A Horse On A Boat.”

The instrumental track, “Young-ish”, completes the latest preview, which follows the recent debut of “Grandmother Earth.”

“I love this one because it just sounds kinda crunchy and plodding with guitar riffs and solos all over it,” says music supervisor Kevin Moyer. “Halfway through it breaks into this really pretty and atmospheric uplifting part, and then it comes back down again.”

Directed by Marq Evans, “The Glamour & The Squalor” traces the life and career of influential Seattle DJ Marco Collins, who made a name for himself at KNDD 107.7 The End by helping break artists like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Beck, The Presidents Of The United States Of America and others.

“Thanks to Marco for allowing me to help his story,” says McCready. “And to the entire cast and crew for The Glamour and The Squalor film. This is also in remembrance of all the musicians from Seattle who aren’t here anymore, but their music remains…”

The Original Motion Picture Score will be issued simultaneously alongside the film’s Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, which mixes audio clips from the project with songs by Violent Femmes, No Doubt, Bush, Garbage and more.

Learn more about “The Glamour & The Squalor” at the film’s website here.

McCready and Pearl Jam will debut their concert film, “Let’s Play Two”, and release its companion soundtrack album on September 29.

Directed by Danny Clinch, the project captures footage from the final two shows of the band’s 2016 North American tour at Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL last August.

VIDEO: Guns N’ Roses cover Glen Campbell and James Brown in Edmonton

Guns N’ Roses performed rare covers of classic tracks by Glen Campbell and James Brown during their August 30 date at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, AB, and video from the show has surfaced online.

"We're going to play something we've never played before," Axl Rose told the crowd about halfway through the evening. “It might not be your thing, but we're just trying to pay a tribute to someone. It's not what you think," before the group delivered a faithful version of Campbell's 1968 hit, "Wichita Lineman."

"For Glen," added Rose after finishing the tune by the legendary country musician, who passed away on August 8 at the age of 81 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Later in the show, Guns N’ Roses took another left turn from their standard setlist with a cover of James Brown’s 1964 smash, “I Got You (I Feel Good).”

“What a night...Thank you Edmonton!,” posted the band on social media after the show.

The Edmonton stop marks one of the final dates of the group’s North American summer tour, which will wrap up in San Antonio, TX on September 8.

The band will enjoy a month-long break before returning to live action for fall dates on the continent starting October 8 in Philadelphia, PA.

VIDEO: U2 premiere new song The Blackout

U2 are streaming a live video for “The Blackout”, as the latest preview to their forthcoming album, “Songs Of Experience.”

According to U2gigs.com, the clip was covertly filmed by director Richie Smyth at Amsterdam's Westerunie venue on July 28 during the European leg of the band’s Joshua Tree 2017 tour.

VIDEO: David Gilmour previews Dark Side Of The Moon classic from Live At Pompeii

David Gilmour is streaming a preview clip of Pink Floyd’s “The Dark Side Of The Moon” classic, “Time”, from his “Live At Pompeii” concert film ahead of its release in various formats on September 29.

The tune is one of three songs from the UK band’s legendary 1973 release – alongside “Money” and the rarely-performed “The Great Gig In The Sky” – that went on to become one of the biggest-selling albums in music history at more than 50 million copies worldwide while continuing to be in demand as each year passes.

Gilmour’s 2016 concerts at the venue – the first-ever rock performances played to an audience in the ancient Roman amphitheatre built in 90 BC – marked his return to the site 45 years after he first played there for Adrian Maben's classic film, “Pink Floyd Live At Pompeii.”

The 2017 release is directed by Gavin Elder, who has worked on previous projects with the guitarist.

"I know how he likes to be portrayed," Elder tells Billboard. "It's editing it with a musicality that enhances everyone's performance and captures the subtlety as well as the spectacle -- real subtle nuances that I think bring the personality to the performance. So what I'm after is the little looks, the little smiles, the little acknowledgements between the band members that it's all happening and they're all on fire.

“It's a collaboration of coming together and we're really there just to capture what they're doing and capture the majesty of the moment."

Available on 2-CD, Blu-ray, 2-DVD, 4-LP, deluxe Blu-ray box and download, “David Gilmour Live At Pompeii” will debut in more than 2,000 cinemas worldwide on September 13.

Tickets for the theatrical screening are available via davidgilmourcinematickets.com

Ozzy Osbourne to become a grandfather for the seventh time

Ozzy Osbourne will become a grandfather for the seventh time following news that his son Jack and his wife Lisa are expecting their third child.

"Literally ate the biggest burrito ever," Lisa posted August 28 on Instagram alongside a mirror selfie featuring Jack and her baby bump as she throws up the "devil's horns" hand sign.

The pair married in 2012 after welcoming their first child, daughter Pearl, earlier that same year and second daughter, Andy Rose, in 2015.

Ozzy has four other grandchildren; two each from daughter Jessica and son Louis from his previous marriage to Thelma Riley.

Ozzy and Black Sabbath will debut their farewell concert film, “The End Of The End”, in cinemas worldwide on September 28.

Directed by Dick Carruthers (Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Oasis), the project presents the last concert under the Sabbath brand by three-quarters of the original lineup – Ozzy, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler.

Ozzy relaunched his solo career at the Rock USA Festival in Oshkosh, WI last month as part of a summer run of U.S. festivals.

The rocker made headlines last week when he performed his 1983 classic, “Bark At The Moon”, during the total solar eclipse at the Moonstock Music Festival in Carterville IL on August 21.

Ozzy will next perform at the Louder Than life Festival in Louisville, KY on September 30.

Metallica announce Master Of Puppets expanded reissues

Metallica have announced the November 10 release of a series of 30th anniversary reissues of their 1986 album classic, “Master Of Puppets.”

The band’s major label debut became thrash metal's first platinum album on its way to US sales of more than 6 million copies.

A little over a year ago, we proudly reissued our first two albums remastered for the most advanced sound quality possible along with special deluxe editions including previously unreleased audio and video recordings,” says Metallica. “We promised to give that love to the entire catalog, and we’re back with all the details about the release of 'Master Of Puppets.'”

The remastered project will be available on CD, vinyl and digital, alongside an expanded 3CD edition and a deluxe box set.

The 3-CD set includes the remastered album, a disc that is a combination of rough mixes, demos and an interview, and a disc featuring a mix of live songs that are sequenced into a typical set list from the Damage, Inc. tour.

The limited-edition deluxe box set includes “unreleased demos, rough mixes, interviews and live tracks, many of which have never even been available in the collector or bootleg community and were pulled from our personal collections,” says the band. “There’s also a 108-page hardcover book with rare and never before seen photos and essays from those who were there with us for the wild ride. All in all, there are three LPs, ten CDs, a cassette, two DVDs, a lithograph with art by Pushead, a folder with handwritten lyrics, and if that isn’t enough to push you over the edge, we’ve also thrown in a set of six buttons (!).”

Metallica are previewing the “Master Of Puppets” reissue with audio of the remastered version of “Disposable Heroes” and a live version of “The Thing That Should Not Be” recorded at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL on May 25, 1986.

The metal icons recently wrapped up a four-month North American tour in support of "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct" with a hennemusic live broadcast stream of their final show from Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, AB on August 16, which can be seen in its entirety here.

The group will begin a European arena tour in Copenhagen, Denmark on September 2.

Lynyrd Skynyrd 1977 plane crash biopic blocked by courts

A New York court has awarded Lynyrd Skynyrd a permanent injunction to block an unauthorized biopic about the band’s 1977 plane crash that killed six people, including lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines and backup singer Cassie Gaines.

Rolling Stone reports production on “Street Survivors: The True Story of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash” – based on the life of former Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle, who left the group in 1991 – will permanently shut down after a judge decided that the film violates a consent order that Pyle signed with his band mates in 1988.

The consent order states that "No such exploitation of life story rights is authorized which purports to be a history of the 'Lynyrd Skynyrd' band, as opposed to the life story of the applicable individual."

Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington, singer and Van Zant's brother Johnny Van Zant and the Van Zant and Gaines estates filed a lawsuit against Pyle and Cleopatra Records over the project in June.

Following a two-day, juryless trial in July, U.S. District Judge Robert Sweet agreed Monday that the biopic would cause "irreparable harm" to the Skynyrd name as well as the late members' estates.

"None of the defendants received the requisite authorization under the terms of the consent order in depiction of (Ronnie) Van Zant or Gaines or in the use of the Lynyrd Skynyrd name, and therefore all have violated the consent order," Sweet, who also oversaw the 1988 consent order, wrote in his judgment.

The judge did note, however, that Cleopatra Records is still allowed to make a Skynyrd biopic without Pyle’s involvement.

"Cleopatra is prohibited from making its movie about Lynyrd Skynyrd when its partner [Pyle] substantively contributes to the project in a way that, in the past, he willingly bargained away the very right to do just that; in any other circumstance, Cleopatra would be as 'free as a bird' to make and distribute its work," Sweet wrote in his decision, which can be read in full here.

"Cleopatra is free to make a movie about Lynyrd Skynyrd and/or about the plane crash,” he added. “What Cleopatra is not free to do, however, is to make such a movie in concert and participation with Pyle in violation of the restrictions imposed on him by the Consent Order."

“Street Survivors” – the band’s fifth studio album – was issued on October 17, 1977.

Three days later, on October 20, Skynyrd’s chartered airplane crashed near Gillsburg, Mississippi en route to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, killing the pilot, co-pilot, the group's assistant road-manager and three band members – frontman Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines and backup singer Cassie Gaines. Beyond the tragedy, the incident severely injured most who survived the crash.

The album is the last Skynyrd project recorded by original members Ronnie Van Zant and Allen Collins, and is the group’s sole studio recording with Steve Gaines.

Lynyrd Skynyrd regrouped in the late 1980s and continue to record and tour; the lineup includes lone original member Gary Rossington on guitar and Ronnie Van Zant’s brother, Johnny, on lead vocals.

The Rolling Stones release 2000 Light Years From Home lyric video

The Rolling Stones are streaming a lyric video for the track “2000 Light Years From Home”, as a preview to the September 22 release of a 50th anniversary reissue of the 1967 album, "Their Satanic Majesties Request", via ABKCO Music.

Directed by Lucy Dawkins and Tom Readdy at Yes Please Productions, the animated clip presents the tune, which appeared as the B-side to the project’s second American single, "She's A Rainbow", and also peaked on its own at No. 5 on the German charts.

Originally released in December of 1967, “Their Satanic Majesties Request” is the first self-produced album in The Rolling Stones’ catalog. The record peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 on its way to Gold status Stateside for sales of 500,000 copies.

The 50th anniversary reissue will be available as a special Deluxe Edition box set containing double vinyl/double hybrid Super Audio CD (compatible with all CD players) that delivers both the stereo and mono versions of the project newly-remastered by Bob Ludwig.

The 2017 reissue includes Michael Cooper’s original 3-D lenticular cover photograph, featuring the band at the peak of the psychedelic era, in a fold-out album limited edition numbered package with a 20 page book including more of Cooper’s photos from the original session.

“Their Satanic Majesties Request” was originally mixed in both stereo and mono, as was standard practice in 1967. The limited edition 50th anniversary edition will include the entire album on 180 gram vinyl in stereo, another 180 gram vinyl record in mono, and two hybrid Super Audio CDs (one in stereo and one in mono). Each of these discs includes the entire musical content in both Super Audio CD (SACD) as well as standard CD, providing for complete backward and forward hardware compatibility; the discs will play on any SACD compatible or standard CD player.

The Rolling Stones will launch the month-long No Filter European tour at the Stadtpark in Hamburg, Germany on September 9.

Poison release 2017 tour wrap video

Poison have released a short video featuring footage from their 2017 North American tour with Def Leppard and Tesla.

The bands hooked up for a three-month spring run that opened in Manchester, NH on April 8 and wrapped up on June 25 in Indianapolis, IN.

“Rockin' across the country with Def Leppard & Tesla has been a BLAST!,” says Poison. “Thank you to all of our awesome fans who support us and come to the shows.”

The trek – which also featured a series of 30th anniversary headline dates by the Pennsylvania outfit – marked the first time in over five years Poison toured with its original lineup of vocalist Bret Michaels, guitarist C.C. DeVille, drummer Rikki Rockett and bassist Bobby Dall.

Rockett encouraged fans on the tour to help him raise funds to support immunotherapy at Moores Cancer Center at UC San Diego Health after successfully completing a clinical trial that declared him cancer-free last summer.

Following a 2015 diagnosis that confirmed the presence of oral cancer, the rocker initially received standard radiation and chemotherapy treatment before checking in to Moore’s for the experimental procedure.

"Without the doctors and staff at Moores Cancer Center, I can honestly say I don't think I'd be here today, to say nothing about playing drums and going on tour again," said Rockett before hitting the road. "I am incredibly grateful that I've got my life back and I'll get to see my two children grow up."

VIDEO: Eddie Vedder performs Out Of Sand on Twin Peaks

photo: Suzanne Tenner / Showtime

Video of Eddie Vedder performing the track, “Out Of Sand”, during the August 27 episode of the Showtime reboot of Twin Peaks has surfaced online.

The Pearl Jam frontman was introduced to patrons at the series' Bang Bang Bar by his birth name.

“Ladies and gentleman, The Roadhouse is proud to welcome Edward Louis Severson,” said an announcer before Vedder began the tune on acoustic guitar.

Written for the series, the rocker has only performed “Out Of Sand” live a handful of times. While a formal studio version has yet to be released, Third Man Records did issue a Record Booth recording of the tune at its Nashville, TN facility to its Vault subscription members in 2016.

Vedder joins a growing list of artists who have performed at The Roadhouse on the Showtime series this season, which has also delivered music from Nine Inch Nails, Chromatics and The Cactus Blossoms, among others.

On September 29, Pearl Jam will debut their concert film, “Let’s Play Two”, and release its companion soundtrack album.

Directed by Danny Clinch, the project captures footage from the final two shows of the band’s 2016 North American tour at Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL last August.

Mastodon to release Cold Dark Place EP

Atlanta rockers Mastodon will release a new 4-song EP, “Cold Dark Place”, on September 22.

Three of the tunes – "North Side Star", "Blue Walsh" and the title track – were recorded during sessions for the band’s 2014 album, "Once More 'Round The Sun", and were produced by Nick Raskulinecz; a fourth track, "Toe To Toes", was produced by Brendan O’Brien last year while the pairing worked on their current "Emperor Of Sand" record.

Fans who pre-order "Cold Dark Place" will receive an instant download of the track "Toe To Toes" on September 1.

Available via CD and digital formats, the project will also be issued as a limited-edition 10-inch vinyl picture disc on October 27.

The EP will be previewed with a special series of Mastodon covers by the newly-relaunched Revolver magazine. The issue, which hits newsstands on September 12, will be available with four different covers, each featuring a member of the band; when all four covers are placed together side by side, a single image of the group is created.

As an added bonus, Revolver subscribers will receive an exclusive and very limited-edition seven-inch vinyl single with their paid order. The A-side is the version of "Toe To Toes" that appears on "Cold Dark Place", and the B-side is a previously unreleased instrumental version of the track. The single will be housed in a picture sleeve featuring exclusive artwork by Richey Beckett, who also created the cover image for the EP.

A behind-the-scenes video on Beckett and the making of the set’s cover art can be seen below.

Mastodon members Brann Dailor, Bill Kelliher and Brent Hinds portrayed White Walkers in Sunday’s season 7 finale of the HBO series Game Of Thrones; they previously appeared in a 2015 episode and recorded the track, “White Walker”, for the show.

The group will begin a fall tour of North America with Eagles Of Death Metal and Russian Circles next month.

AUDIO: Wolfgang Van Halen streams debut solo album preview

Wolfgang Van Halen recently streamed a brief audio preview of a track from his forthcoming debut solo album on Instagram.

“Here’s a sneak peak of the music I’ve been working on (that’s longer than half a second)”, posted the Van Halen bassist, who has been sharing images from his work-in-progress project since 2015.

The rocker’s father, Eddie Van Halen, first broke the news about his son’s solo record during a 2015 interview at The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History in Washington, DC during an event to help launch the institution’s three-year initiative entitled “What It Means To Be American.”

While gushing about being able to make music with his son, Eddie told host Denise Quan, “Wait til you hear his record. This is not ‘pop’ (Dad) talking, this is real talk; it blew my mind.”

Wolfgang is reportedly playing everything on his debut himself - from guitars, drums and bass to keyboards and vocals; no timetable for the set’s release has been revealed to date.

“Progress,” he tweeted on August 24. “Shouldn't be too much longer until everything I've been working on is done.”

The bassist joined Van Halen in 2007 in sync with the return of original frontman David Lee Roth, replacing Michael Anthony, who was dismissed by Eddie following the group’s ill-fated 2004 reunion tour with Sammy Hagar.

Wolfgang appeared on Van Halen’s 2012 album, “A Different Kind Of Truth”, before joining Alter Bridge/Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti’s solo band, Tremonti, later that same year and recording 2015’s “Cauterize” and 2016’s “Dust” releases.

VIDEO: Brian Johnson performs AC/DC classic with Muse at Reading Festival

AC/DC singer Brian Johnson performed the band’s 1980 classic, “Back In Black”, with Muse at the UK's Reading Festival on August 27 and video from the event has surfaced online.

Muse frontman Matt Bellamy welcomed Johnson to the stage, saying, “he’s back!”, before the band delivered the iconic track as the first encore tune of their closing night headline set.

“That means a lot to me, thank you so much, thank you boys!”, said Johnson as he gave a big, bear hug to the singer.

“Muse promised us special guests and boy did they deliver!,” tweeted host broadcast BBC following the show, which also saw headline performances by Kasabian and Eminem, with all acts also appearing at the companion Leeds Festival over the weekend.

The Reading appearance marked the second surprise live performance by Johnson this year, following a guest spot alongside Robert Plant at a Paul Rodgers show in Oxford, UK in May.

Johnson made headlines last year when he left AC/DC’s “Rock Or Bust” tour on the advice of doctors due to hearing loss issues.

Axl Rose stepped in to assist the Australian rockers for a 14-date spring run across Europe and a ten-show US tour last fall.

Johnson – who revealed that the initial source of his hearing loss began approximately nine years ago while racing at the Watkins Glen International – has been working with the inventor of in-ear monitors, Asius Technologies founder Stephen Ambrose, to find a technical solution that would allow the singer to return to live performances one day.

In the meantime, AC/DC’s future with lone original member Angus Young at the helm remains unknown, as does Johnson or Rose’s possible involvement moving forward.

VIDEO: Metallica stream Grammy Awards rehearsals with Lady Gaga

Metallica are streaming footage from rehearsals with Lady Gaga prior to their appearance on the 59th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on February 12.

The pair can be seen mapping out plans for their performance of the “Hardwired…To Self Destruct” single, “Moth Into Flame.”

During the Grammys broadcast, the band suffered through a technical glitch by producers when James Hetfield’s microphone failed to work during the first verse, forcing him to share Gaga’s with her as they ploughed through the blazing track from their US No. 1 album.

At the end of the performance, a visibly frustrated Hetfield kicked over his mic stand and threw his guitar offstage.

"In the heat of the battle,” drummer Lars Ulrich later told Grammys host James Corden on CBS-TV’s The Late Late Show, “you're out there and you're playing, when it's a technical issue, you don't really know — 'Is it going to the house?' 'Is his vocals going to the truck? 'Maybe it's just the monitors.' — so you've just gotta keep playing.

“We get off stage, we get back there, and I haven't seen him [James] like that in twenty years. I mean, he was livid. He's aged really well and he's a pretty chill guy, but the first five or ten minutes in that dressing room was not a lot of fun.

“But, like they say, the show must go on, and we fought through it,”
Ulrich added. “And with the fire and Gaga in my lap for about a minute at one point, it was just, 'Keep going, keep going, keep going.' So we fought through it, and a lot of people said that at least it made for great television, which is really the point of doing the Grammys to begin with."

Metallica wrapped up a four-month North American tour with a hennemusic live broadcast stream of their final show from Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, AB on August 16, which can be seen in its entirety here.

The band will begin a European arena tour in Copenhagen, Denmark on September 2.

Mastodon release Steambreather video

Mastodon have released a video for “Steambreather”, the latest track from their seventh album, “Emperor Of Sand.”

The project debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 in April with opening week sales of 43,000 copies.

Mastodon recorded the set last year with producer Brendan O’Brien at the Quarry in Kennesaw, GA.

The Atlanta rockers will launch a series of fall dates across North America next month with Eagles Of Death Metal and Russian Circles.

The trek will include a benefit concert at The Metro in Chicago, IL on September 9 in honor of suicide prevention month. 100% of the proceeds from the event will support suicide prevention and mental health education.
“Please join us in breaking the silence around suicide and mental health,” says the band, “it would mean the world to us.”

The group reports there are few tickets remaining for the event; learn more at mastodonrocks.com

AUDIO: Motorhead stream cover of Metallica classic Whiplash

Motorhead are streaming audio of their take on the 1983 Metallica classic, “Whiplash”, as the latest preview to the September 1 release of “Under Cover.”

The Motorhead version of the track from Metallica’s debut album, “Kill ‘Em All”, originally appeared on the 2004 compilation, “Metallic Attack: The Ultimate Tribute,” which featured a variety of acts paying tribute to the thrash metal pioneers.

"We love Metallica and they love us,” says drummer Mikkey Dee, “and this is one of the songs we liked a lot and covered it back then. The snare, the riffs – all that fit in with Motorhead."

The group’s cover won Motorhead a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2005, which Dee describes as "total irony. It's okay, but it would have meant more if was one of our own songs."

“Under Cover” sees Motorhead deliver versions of tunes originally recorded by The Ramones, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, David Bowie, The Sex Pistols, Ted Nugent, The Rolling Stones, Dio and Twisted Sister.

Tracks for the collection were recorded during various studio sessions between 1992 and 2015.

“Under Cover” will be available in 1CD (digipack), 1x 180g black vinyl in gatefold, Super Deluxe boxset (1CD digipack, 1x 180g black vinyl and VIP guest pass), digital audio and MFiT audio.

AUDIO: Gregg Allman streams Willie Dixon classic from final album

Gregg Allman is streaming a cover of the Willie Dixon classic, “I Love The Life I Live”, as the latest preview to the September 8 release of his final album, “Southern Blood.”

The tune follows the lead single, “My Only True Friend”, from the project, which delivers a collection of songs written by Allman’s friends and favourite artists, including Jackson Browne, Jerry Garcia & Robert Hunter, Lowell George and Spooner Oldham & Dan Penn.

Allman, who passed away on May 27 from complications of liver cancer at the age of 69, was well aware that his time was short as he worked on the record with his touring group of musicians.

“Gregg was very excited to be in the studio,” says friend and collaborator Michael Lehman. “He was especially thrilled to be recording this studio album with his solo band – he was so proud of them and loved the sound that they produced together. Gregg felt close to every single one of them.

"The Gregg Allman Band was like a family or a well-oiled machine, always knowing what the other band members were thinking and doing.”

A series of three events paying tribute to the late rocker have been confirmed for next month around the release of “Southern Blood.”

Allman will be remembered by friends, family and former musical collaborators at events in Los Angeles, CA, Macon, GA and Nashville, TN.

Robert Plant announces UK tour

Robert Plant has announced dates for fall UK tour in support of his forthcoming album, “Carry Fire.”

The 4-week, 14-date run will open in Plymouth on November 16, with shows wrapping up in Birmingham on December 12.

Tickets for the trek will go on sale Friday, August 25 at 9 a.m.

Ahead of the tour, Plant will release his eleventh album, “Carry Fire”, on October 13.

The rocker produced and recorded the follow-up to 2014’s “lullaby and...The Ceaseless Roar” with the Sensational Space Shifters; the project features appearances by Albanian cellist Redi Hasa, renowned viola and fiddle player Seth Lakeman, and Pretenders singer Chrissie Hynde.

“It’s about intention, I respect and relish my past works but each time I feel the lure and incentive to create new work. I must mix old with new,” explains Plant. “Consequently the whole impetus of the band has moved on its axis somewhat, the new sound and different space giving way to exciting and dramatic landscapes of mood, melody and instrumentation.”

Plant is previewing the fall release with a lyric video for the lead single, “The May Queen.”

Ghost release video for Meliora single He Is

Ghost have released a video for “He Is”, the fourth single from their 2015 album, “Meliora.”

Directed by Zev Deans, the clip marks the final track to be issued from the Swedish band’s third studio effort.

“Now we bid adieu to our third psalm,” says the group, “the party is over.”

“Meliora” delivered Ghost their first-ever US Top 10 when the project debuted on the Billboard 200 at No. 8.

The band won their first Grammy Award in the Best Metal performance category for the set’s lead single, “Cirice”, and a Swedish Grammis Award in the "Best Hard Rock/Metal Album" of the year category.

The record was followed last fall by the 2016 EP, “Popestar”, which made US history by becoming the first EP to land at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums in the chart's 10-year history.

Ghost completed a summer North American tour with Iron Maiden and performed at Belgium’s Alcatraz Metal Festival and the UK’s Bloodstock Open Air event earlier this month.

Frontman Papa Emeritus made headlines recently when he officially unmasked himself during a radio interview with Swedish radio channel P1.
