Recorded with producer Nick Raskulinecz at studios in Seattle, Nashville and Los Angeles, “Rainier Fog”debuted at No. 12 on the US Billboard 200 while scoring a triple-header of No. 1 entries on Billboard's Top Rock Albums, Alternative Albums and Hard Rock Albums charts, marking the second time the Seattle outfit has topped all three – following the same feat with their 2013 release.
The project marks the band’s third album with singer William DuVall, who was brought into the fold in 2006 when the Seattle outfit regrouped following an extended hiatus after the 2002 passing of Layne Staley.
Fresh off the conclusion of a fall North American tour in support of the record, Alice In Chains will begin a series of South American dates in Santiago, Chile on November 2.

Ozzy Osbourne is sharing an update on plans for his New Year’s Ozzfest at The Forum in Los Angeles.
The event has expanded its headlining bill of Osbourne, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Korn’s Jonathan Davis and Body Count featuring Ice-T to include a second, outdoor stage that will feature performances by guitarist Zakk Wylde’s Black Sabbath tribute, Zakk Sabbath, Devildriver and Wednesday 13.
With 10 hours of entertainment before fans ring in the New Year with Ozzy onstage, Ozzfest will kick off with live music at 2:30 PM on the outdoor stage before shifting indoors at 6:00 PM for the evening.
The December 31 event marks the first-ever, special one-night edition of Ozzy’s annual festival, which began in 1996.
Tickets and full event details are available now via ozzfest.com.
Osbourne recently thanked fans for their support as he continues to recover following a hand injury that required surgery and resulted in the recent postponement of four US shows on his farewell tour.
The rocker was hospitalized in Los Angeles to undergo treatment for multiple staph infections in his right hand and one that had spread to his middle finger; a staph infection occurs when otherwise normal germs on a person’s skin find a way into a person’s bloodstream, at which point they could turn deadly if not treated.
“I just want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your concern,”says Ozzy. “My thumb is fully recovered now. I am looking forward to seeing you all this New Year’s Eve at The Forum with Ozzfest. It's gonna be great. Be there."
Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason will perform vintage material by the legendary UK band on a spring 2019 tour of North America.
Billed as Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets – after the group’s second album – the drummer is joined by Spandau Ballet’s Gary Kemp, Lee Harris of the Blockheads, bassist Guy Pratt and composer Dom Beken, a collaborator with late Floyd keyboardist Rick Wright.
The lineup strictly performs material from Pink Floyd’s pre-“The Dark Side Of The Moon” era, including songs from their groundbreaking 1967 debut, “The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn.”
“With the help of some like-minded friends, I have embarked on a voyage of discovery of the music that was the launchpad of Pink Floyd and my working life,” says Mason. “It seems too early to retire, and I missed the interaction with other musicians.”
The five-week spring series (see dates below) will hit most US major cities after it opens in Vancouver, BC on March 12.
Tickets for most shows will go on sale Monday, November 5, with others available starting Friday, November 11 – for details by market, visit saucerfulofsecerts.com.
A week after the North American dates finish in Washington, DC on April 22, Mason and company will play a brief UK tour that includes two nights at London’s Roundhouse.

KISS performed their 1977 single, “Love Gun”, on NBC-TV’s The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on October 30.
The appearance was to promote the band’s “End Of The Road” farewell world tour, which will see the classic rockers head out on a three-year trek around the globe one last time.
"All that we have built and all that we have conquered over the past four decades could never have happened without the millions of people worldwide who've filled clubs, arenas and stadiums over those years,” says KISS. “This will be the ultimate celebration for those who've seen us and a last chance for those who haven't.
“KISS Army, we're saying goodbye on our final tour with our biggest show yet and we'll go out the same way we came in... unapologetic and unstoppable."
KISS will kick off the opening leg in North America with a show in Vancouver, BC on January 31, followed by a two-month summer series in Europe that will start in late May.
KISS Meet & Greet Experiences and a KISS Army fan club presale are now available through KissOnline.com.
A Citi cardmembers presale for U.S. tickets runs Wednesday, October 31 at 12:00 p.m. local time until Thursday, November 1 at 10:00 p.m. local time through Citi's Private Pass program, while general public seats for ALL ANNOUNCED DATES will go on sale starting Friday, November 2 at 10 a.m. local time.
KISS was co-founded in January of 1973 by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons from the ashes of the pair’s previous band, Wicked Lester; they added guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss and went on to great success in their 1970s heyday.
Live For Live Music reports the hour-long festivities – hosted by Jim Kerr of New York’s Classic Rock Q104.3 – began with opening remarks by New York City Council Member Karen Koslowitz of the 29th District, who proposed the street renaming, and was followed by a keynote address by screenwriter and longtime Becker friend Howard A. Rodman.
Streamed live on Facebook by the radio station (see video below), the noon-time event in the Forest Hills section of Queens saw the official unveiling of “Walter Becker Way” at the corner of 112th Street and 72nd Drive in a tribute to the late rocker, who passed away last fall from esophageal cancer at the age of 67.
The New York City Council customarily uses street co-naming to honor New York-based activists, cultural heroes, and community leaders whose contributions continue to reverberate in the city and beyond.
Becker’s bandmate Donald Fagen continues to perform under the Steely Dan banner; the lineup just wrapped up a residency at New York’s Beacon Theatre that mixed full album presentations with greatest hits evenings.
Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson performed a trio of classics by the legendary Canadian band during an appearance at a charity event in Malibu, CA this past weekend.
Lifeson also teamed up with Krieger on a pair of Doors tunes, including “Riders On The Storm” and “Roadhouse Blues.”
The annual benefit concert also featured performances by guitarist Orianthi, Elliott Easton of The Cars, Rami Jaffee of Foo Fighters and Cherie Currie of The Runaways, among others.
The mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment – to learn more and/or to donate, visit stjude.org.
The band’s sixth record featured the epic “Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres” – which encompassed the entirety of Side 1 on the original album and was the continuation of the “Farewell To Kings” track, “Cygnus X-1” – and the longtime concert favorite, “La Villa Strangiato.”
The “Hemispheres” 40th Anniversary series will be available in multiple packages, including the Super Deluxe Edition, the 2CD Deluxe Edition, a 3LP Deluxe Edition, and a Deluxe Digital Edition.
Guns N’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke has revealed that he turned down an offer to join his former band on their Not In This Lifetime reunion tour.
"When it first started, they did reach out to me to come and play," Clarke told Eddie Trunk during a recent appearance on his SiriusXM program (hear interview audio below). “I have said that they did ask me before, I've never said why I didn't do it.
“The real reason is, they asked me, but you know my daughter Frankie has a band [Frankie + The Studs], they asked me the same day my daughter's band was playing Lollapalooza [in July 2016], which was like the biggest break for her band and stuff. It was the same day they were playing Lollapalooza and I had to be there, and I couldn't really give that up to go be the third guitar player in the band."
Clarke was in the lineup from 1991 through 1994 and appeared on their fifth album, 1993’s “The Spaghetti Incident?”
As for a future appearance on Guns N’ Roses reunion run, the guitarist says: "I have nothing against it," adding his original offer "just didn't work out for me."
The day before his SiriusXM appearance, Clarke just happened to cross paths with his former bandmates.
"I don't really talk to 'em, although I actually saw everybody yesterday,” explains the rocker. “They were rehearsing and I was getting my gear. We were at the same place."
Clarke says things went well during his chance encounter.
"Oh, absolutely," he recalls. "I mean, I'm still cool with Axl; I'm still cool with everybody. I have no ill feelings or anything."
Guns N’ Roses will resume the reunion tour with an appearance at the Mother Of All Rock-Fest in Monterrey, Mexico on November 3 before playing a series of shows in the Far East and the United Arab Emirates, and their first-ever concert in the state of Hawaii at Honolulu’s Aloha Stadium on December 8.
Metallica performed their 2016 single, “Moth Into Flame”, at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA on October 18, and the band are streaming professional footage from the show.
The tune was the second track issued from the band’s tenth album, “Hardwired…To Self-Destruct”, which debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 on its way to sales of more than a million copies in the country.
Metallica’s current fall trek across North America will wrap up in Fresno, CA on December 9 before taking a six week break for the holidays; the series will resume for another three-month run in Tulsa, OK on January 18 before returning to Europe.
“We promised we would be back . . . it’s the return of the European summer vacation!,” says Metallica. “Following the attendance breaking indoor arena run that ended in May of this year, we are psyched that we will be returning to Europe in May of next year to do an outdoor run of our own shows, primarily in stadiums, but also the occasional park and even a castle thrown in for good measure!
“Kicking off May 1, 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal, the tour will visit 25 cities across 20 countries including many cities we did not stop in on the most recent excursion: Milan, Zürich, Dublin, Berlin, Moscow, Warsaw, Bucharest, Göteborg and Brussels (first time since 1988!) are all on the itinerary this summer. We also have three firsts (go figure!) with shows in Trondheim Norway, Hämeenlinna Finland, and Tartu, Estonia.
“Joining us for the festivities will be Ghost and Bokassa.”

Lenny Kravitz is streaming a recording studio video version for “Low”, the latest single from “Raise Vibration.”
The footage gives fans an inside look at the rocker’s creative process while working on the song, which features a guest appearance by Michael Jackson that was recorded during sessions for the late pop icon’s 2001 album, “Invincible.”
The pair had worked together on the tune, “(I Can’t Make It) Another Day” – which was released after Jackson’s death in 2009; Kravitz used some ad-libs from their studio time together and incorporated them into “Low.”
“A lot of people say: ‘Oh, you’re doing that Michael Jackson impersonation,’” says Kravitz. “No, that’s him.”
Produced and recorded by Kravitz at his Bahamas studio, “Raise Vibration”recently debuted at No. 43 on the US Billboard 200 with opening week sales of 13,000 units, including 12,000 in traditional album sales.
Roger Waters is streaming a video trailer for his just-released adaptation of Igor Stravinsky’s “The Soldier’s Tale.”
The project sees Waters narrate the latest take on the Russian composer’s classic story of a soldier who trades his violin to The Devil in exchange for a book that will help make him rich.
The 2018 adapatation sees the former Pink Floyd bassist play the Soldier, the Devil, the Narrator and all of the story’s other characters, as well.
Music for “The Soldier’s Tale” is provided by seven musicians from the prestigious Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival.
The fact that Waters has recorded this work in particular is no accident, for there are personal reasons for his choice. In the first place, he has wanted for a long time to engage more deeply with the work of a composer whose weight and occasional inaccessibility may perhaps have much in common with his own music and, in the second place, the two world wars have left their mark on Waters’ family, too – he lost his father in the Second World War, while one of his grandfathers was killed in the First.
“I’m hugely proud of it and I feel honored to have been given the opportunity to be part of a production of what I consider to be not just a great piece of work from Stravinsky, but, I think, an amazingly beautiful piece of recording,” says Waters.
“The Soldier’s Tale” has been issued a few days in advance of the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice at Compiègne that brought the First World War to an end on November 11, 1918.
Waters is currently playing a series of dates across South America on the US + Them tour, which features songs from the albums of Pink Floyd, with an emphasis on 1973’s “The Dark Side Of The Moon”, 1975’s “Wish You Were Here”, 1977’s “Animals” and 1979’s concept album “The Wall.”
Queensyche will release a new album, “The Verdict”, on March 1 and launch it with a spring US tour.
The band’s fifteenth record was produced, mixed, and mastered by Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Iced Earth, Hatebreed) at Uberbeatz in Lynwood, WA, Planet-Z in Wilbraham, MA and Watershed Studio in Seattle, WA.
The set marks the follow-up to “Condition Human”, which debuted at No. 27 on the US Billboard 200 in late 2015 and marked the group’s second studio album with vocalist Todd La Torre.
"I'm extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish on this record," says La Torre. "The relentless dedication and hard work of everyone involved has been very rewarding. I am excited and looking forward to it no longer just belonging to us, but belonging to the world. We hope you all enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it!"
"The Verdict is the most metal and the most progressive record we have made in a long time,” adds guitarist Michael Wilton. “I couldn't possibly be more excited for everyone to hear this."
Queensryche will kick off a month-long spring US tour with guests Fates Warning in Orlando, FL on March 2 (see dates below).
Full album and ticket information is expected to be announced soon; visit queensryche.com for details. Queensryche "The Verdict"

KISS will perform on NBC-TV’s The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, October 30.
The appearance comes as speculation continues about an impending announcement of dates for the group’s farewell tour, which they confirmed last month on the season 13 finale of NBC-TV’s America’s Got Talent.
Set to begin in 2019, the trek is billed as "One Last Kiss: End Of The Road World Tour."
"This is gonna be our last tour,” said Paul Stanley on the program. “It will be the most explosive, biggest show we've ever done. People who love us, come see us. If you've never seen us, this is the time. This will be the show."
"All that we have built and all that we have conquered over the past four decades could never have happened without the millions of people worldwide who've filled clubs, arenas and stadiums over those years,” added KISS in a statement. “This will be the ultimate celebration for those who've seen us and a last chance for those who haven't. KISS Army, we're saying goodbye on our final tour with our biggest show yet and we'll go out the same way we came in... unapologetic and unstoppable." KISS was co-founded in January of 1973 by Stanley and bassist Gene Simmons from the ashes of the pair’s previous band, Wicked Lester; they added guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss and went on to great success in their 1970s heyday.
The group have gone through a number of lineup changes through the years, with guitarist Tommy Thayer currently performing using Frehley’s spaceman makeup and stage gear while longtime drummer Eric Singer appears in Criss’ cat makeup and stage persona.
UPDATE (10/31): Watch KISS perform on The Tonight Show here.
According to Billboard, the project enters the Billboard 200 at No. 3 with opening week sales of 87,000 units.
The set was the top-selling album of the week: with 80,000 copies in traditional album units, “Anthem” actually outpaced the chart-topping soundtrack to “A Star Is Born”, which sold 61,000 albums out of its 109,000 equivalent album units.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the US based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, which are comprised of traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
Introduced with the lead single, “When The Curtain Falls”, Greta Van Fleet’s full length studio record follows the 2017 EP “From The Fires”, which peaked at No. 36, while its predecessor, “Black Smoke Rising”, topped out at No. 182.
The Michigan rockers recorded the project earlier this year at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN and Rustbelt Studios in Royal Oak, MI with producers Marlon Young, Al Sutton and Herschel Boone.
Greta Van Fleet has just kicked of a series of European dates in Paris, France and will begin an extensive 2019 world tour with their first-ever shows in Australia and New Zealand in late January.
Lynyrd Skynyrd have announced dates for a spring 2019 farewell tour of Canada.
The Southern Rock outfit will play a 2-week, 8-show run across the country starting March 2 in Ottawa, ON.
The group will be joined on the trek by guest Randy Bachman, founder of both The Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive and two-time inductee into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame.
Ticket presales for most concerts will begin Monday, October 29, with general public seats going on sale starting Friday, November 2 at 10 AM local time.
The band will soon announce additional international and US dates for the tour, which is named after the Florida group’s 1977 album, “Street Survivors”; the trek marks the final shows by Lynyrd Skynyrd, who have sold more than 30 million albums sold over the course of their career and were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2006.

Clutch cancelled their October 27 show at New York’s Irving Plaza at the last minute over a medical issue involving singer Neil Fallon.
The rocker was taken to hospital in Secaucus, NJ after passing out during an afternoon walk a few hours before showtime on the Maryland group’s North American tour in support of their new album, “Book Of Bad Decisions.”
“Due to an unforeseen medical circumstance, we are sorry to report that we will not be performing tonight at Irving Plaza,” announced the group on social media prior to the event. “Sevendust and Tyler Bryant And The Shakedown will still be playing full sets. If you do not wish to attend tonight’s performance, refunds will be offered at point of purchase.”
“Regarding tonight’s cancellation at Irving Plaza. It’s me. Again,” wrote Fallon in a series of tweets. “In the early afternoon I went for a stroll. I became light headed and dizzy. Next thing I knew I was coming to on my back in a puddle of water with 2 Secaucus policemen and paramedics staring down at me.
“I took a header on the sidewalk. Was taken to the ER. Thankfully, both the EKG and CAT scan came back normal. I was diagnosed with something called ‘Near-Syncope,’ which, as far as I can tell, is the medical term for ‘We have no idea why you passed out, but ya did.’”
According to MedicineNet.com, syncope – or fainting – is caused by a decreased blood flow to the brain brought on by any number of factors, including low blood pressure or heart issues, while some patients never receive a diagnosis or know the specific cause.
“Apologies to all the folks who made plans to come to the show but the doc says no,” Fallon added. “Believe me, no one is more pissed about this than I. We’ll be on tour for quite some time in 2019 and we’ll certainly try to get an Irving Plaza date in there.
“One last note, the EMT, Paul, is a huge Clutch fan. It was good to meet you, Paul. You’re on the guest list for life. Thank you.”
It’s the second time in a month that Clutch have faced a medical issue in their camp; a flu bug that hit Fallon caused the band to reschedule three shows on the US east coast which, coincidentally, they are set to play this coming week.
Clutch recorded “Book Of Bad Decisions” at Sputnik Sound in Nashville, TN with producer Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton, The Raconteurs).
Due to an unforeseen medical circumstance we are sorry to report that We will not be performing tonight @IrvingPlaza@Sevendust and @TBSHAKEDOWN will still be playing full sets. If you do not wish to attend tonight’s performance, refunds will be offered at point of purchase.
Ozzy Osbourne is sharing a video update on his recovery following a hand injury that required surgery and resulted in the recent postponement of four US shows on his farewell tour.
The situation saw the rocker postpone, cancel and ultimately reschedule stops in Mountain View, CA, Chula Vista, CA, Los Angeles, CA and Las Vegas, NV that have been moved to July 2019.
“I just want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your concern,” says Ozzy in a new video message to fans. “My thumb is fully recovered now. I am looking forward to seeing you all this New Year’s Eve at The Forum with Ozzfest. It's gonna be great. Be there."
The first-ever, special one-night edition of his annual festival will see the Black Sabbath legend joined by a lineup that includes Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Korn’s Jonathan Davis, and Body Count featuring Ice-T.
Tickets and full event details are available via ozzfest.com.
The Rolling Stones are streaming audio of a 1994 performance of “I Go Wild”, as the latest preview to the November 16 release of the live package, “Voodoo Lounge Uncut.”
The fourth and final single from “Voodoo Lounge” was only featured on the band’s 1994-95 tour in support of the project, which topped the charts in several countries while peaking at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 on its way to sales of 2 million copies in the country.
Filmed at Miami’s Joe Robbie Stadium on November 25, 1994 and broadcast as a pay-per-view event, the material was first issued as “Voodoo Lounge Live” on VHS video the following year before an edited version was delivered on DVD in 1998.
This restored, remixed and remastered film contains ten previously unreleased performances from the event, that features guest appearances by Sheryl Crow ("Live With Me"), Robert Cray ("Stop Breaking Down Blues") and Bo Diddley ("Who Do You Love?"), as well as the first performance of "Sweet Virginia" since 1973.
The package adds five songs that were captured at Giants Stadium in New Jersey early in the trek that were a part of a VHS video called “Live Voodoo Lounge” that was offered for sale during the tour.
“Voodoo Lounge Uncut” will be available in multiple formats, including Blu-ray/2-CD, DVD/2-CD, limited-edition 3LP red vinyl and digital audio and video.
Co-produced by Clapton and Simon Climie, the record also enters the Billboard 200 at No. 168 with opening week sales of 6,000 units, of which nearly all of were in traditional album sales.
“Happy Xmas” presents the legendary guitarist’s take on a mix of standards - including “White Christmas,” “Silent Night” and "Away In A Manger" - and lesser known holiday tunes alongside a new original track, “For Love On Christmas Day.”
“Before this became a Christmas album,” Clapton explains, “there was an intention of doing a straight, normal studio album…and then it started to morph into the Christmas thing, and I think at that point it started to become a reality; and, for me, I’ve done something I’m really proud of, that I really believe in.”
