AUDIO: Lullably Renditions Of KISS preview

Rockabye Baby! — which transforms timeless rock songs into beautiful instrumental lullabies — will release "Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions Of Kiss" on August 28.

“Rockabye Baby” was developed by Van Halen singer David Lee Roth’s sister Lisa Roth, in conjunction with CMH Records. The series includes collections made from the songs of artists like AC/DC, Metallica, Aerosmith, Pearl Jam, The Beatles, and many others.

Find out more about Rockabye Baby! here.

Here’s the KISS album description:

"There will never be a better show opener than 'Detroit Rock City'. 'Beth' is the gold standard for power ballads. And 'Rock And Roll All Nite' is the quintessential rock 'n' roll national anthem. Given Rockabye's kid-tested, parent-approved lullaby treatment, these KISS Klassics are as alive as ever — just as thrilling when xylophones and bells replace Ace Frehley's Gibson Les Paul and Gene Simmons' demonic snarl. Except come bedtime, junior won't be able to keep partying into the 'nite;' these lullabies will have him counting a veritable KISS Army of sheep."

Audio preview samples of the full “Lullaby Renditions Of Kiss” album can be streamed at Amazon here.

A film project entitled “The Taking,” featuring Duff McKagan’s Loaded, is on its way.

Directed by Seattle filmmaker Jamie Burton Chamberlin, the series explores the lyrical content of Loaded’s studio album of the same title, which was released last year.

The project will be released in episodes, with a total of 10 vignettes/music videos telling a tale of totally bizarre adventures, imprisoned band members, and kids' size ice cream cones.

Among the people involved in the series are Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones, Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney from Alice In Chains, Lemmy from Motorhead and Gilby Clarke.

The series begins this fall, with distribution of the project to be announced.

Motley Crue drummer talks Sex and new music

Motley Crue released “Sex,” their first new song in four years, just prior to the launch of their summer co-headlining tour with KISS a few weeks ago.

The track was written when the Crue were together during their residency in Las Vegas last February.

“We just cut that song to have a track out for the summer, for the tour,” drummer Tommy Lee tells Vevo.

Beyond the new single, Lee also talked about what’s next for the Crue.

“I think musically next for us is working on music for The Dirt, the movie or maybe another EP in the near future,” says the drummer. “I’m not really sure but right now we’ve got the KISS tour ahead of us and a new summer single and that’s kind of right now we’re focusing on, but I know the movie’s coming up shortly.”

“The Dirt” was the band’s 2001 best-selling autobiography that spent ten weeks in the top ten on The New York Times Best Seller list. The film adaptation of the book has spent years in the planning stages.

KISS reveal new album cover

KISS will release their 20th studio album, “Monster,” on October 16.

The band has revealed the cover for the project, which was unveiled piece-by-piece over the course of the past week. Using the group’s recently launched "Monster Hunt" Facebook app, the classic rockers have been exposing portions of the image at various web sites around the Internet so that fans could put it together themselves.

The full image can now be seen below.

"Monster" is KISS’ first studio effort since 2009’s "Sonic Boom"; it was produced by Paul Stanley with Greg Collins at Conway Studios in Hollywood, California, and The Nook in Studio City, California.

The album features collaborations among all four KISS members — including co-founders Stanley and Gene Simmons, and longtime members guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer.

"There are no symphony orchestras, boy choirs, keyboards, outside producers or songwriters on this album," says Simmons. "The best thing we did was to turn inwards to ourselves. Tommy and Eric have revitalized this band, with a work ethic and the talent to back it up. This is a real band effort. KISS has become a behemoth. We're going where no bands have gone before."

The album’s first single, "Hell Or Hallelujah" is out now.

KISS are currently playing shows across North America with Motley Crue.

As for the trilogy, ¡Dos! and ¡Tré! will be released on November 13th, and January 15th 2013 respectively.

VIDEO: KISS rock private set at Florida meet & greet

KISS and Motley Crue kicked off their summer co-headlining tour of North America recently in Virginia.

With both bands putting on headlining sets - each with their own massive staging elements - it was only a few shows in to the trek that they realized the amount of set-up time needed to put on such a huge production.

At the tour’s third date, in Raleigh, NC, KISS changed their daily schedule to accommodate the staging issues by skipping soundcheck to allow the road crew sufficient time to prepare the event; instead, the band played a private set during the pre-show meet & greet – watch it here.

The reaction from the fans, crew and the band themselves was so positive that this experience has been made a permanent part of the Meet & Greet for the summer tour.

KISS will perform a "private" set each evening for fans instead of a soundcheck, and they did it again on Friday in West Palm Beach, Florida before their show at the Cruzan Amphitheatre.

KISS rocked a five-song set, including “Calling Dr. Love,” “Hard Luck Woman,” “Goin’ Blind,” “Hotter Than Hell” and “Nothin’ To Lose.”

Green Day singer to mentor on The Voice

Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong is coming to a tv near you.

The singer has joined NBC's The Voice as a mentor to Christina Aguilera's team when the show returns for season 3 this fall.

"Welcome Billie Joe (@BJAofficial) to #TeamXtina!" the show tweeted. "We are ready to rock out in Season 3."

Armstrong is already on board as he started taping the show this week.

Christina joined in with a tweet of her own, writing, “So excited to have such a talented mentor on #TeamXtina. @BJAofficial has so much to offer team & has kept me laughing all day. #TheVoice”

The Green Day frontman is one of three new mentors on the series, which also welcomes new faces Rob Thomas (Cee Lo Green's team), Mary J. Blige (Adam Levine's team) and Michael Buble (Blake Shelton's team).

“He's [Billie Joe] had a tremendous amount of success in the business," said Aguilera in a new interview with Extra. "I like to switch it up. This one was very intriguing because he comes from a completely different genre of music than I do. He's had tremendous obvious stage experience and touring and he would have some amazing advice and input.”

Asked whether viewers may get to see the duo perform together, Aguilera teased, "We'll see… stranger things have happened."

Season 3 of The Voice premieres September 10.

Green Day release “¡Uno!,” the first album in a new trilogy, on September 25; the project's first single, "Oh Love," is out now.

Poison: Bret Michaels to make movie about his life

Poison have been spending the summer on the Rock Of Ages tour with Def Leppard.

The rockers are currently on a mid-tour break, with dates resuming August 9 in Sunrise, FL.

The break gives Poison frontman Bret Michaels a chance to play a series of solo shows while he promotes his upcoming album, “Get You Rock On.”

The project features a variety of guests, including Ace Frehley, Joe Perry, Michael Anthony and Jimmy Buffett, to name just a few.

While juggling two tours and the launch of the new Bret Michaels Pets Rock collection with PetSmart, the singer spoke with The Columbus Dispatch about a project he’s planning: a movie about his life

The film would start with his youth in Pittsburgh, where he overcame his childhood health issues, first picked up a guitar and formed his first bands. It’s a rags-to-riches story — Poison has sold more than 30 million records — but Michaels warns that his story wouldn’t be a standard-issue biopic.

“I want to tell the story,” he says. “Mostly, when you see rock movies, it has to be this over-the-top thing. I want to give people a Bret Michaels movie where they see that my life is a comedy of errors. “I also want to show my fans how to get through the kind of troubles that would leave most people flat on the floor.”

VIDEO: Black Sabbath share Paranoid from Birmingham concert

On May 19, a mostly-reunited Black Sabbath rocked their hometown of Birmingham.

The event marked the first time the band had played the city in more than a dozen years, and acted as a warmup show to the group’s headline appearance at Download the following month.

Original Sabbath members Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler were joined by Ozzy’s drummer Tommy Clufetos for the show as Bill Ward released a statement declining to participate in the reunion based on his dissatisfaction with a current contract offer.

The intimate hometown show was the first of three scheduled for Sabbath this year, including Download (June 10) and Lollapalooza in Chicago (August 3).

Sabbath have released pro-shot footage of “Paranoid” from the Birmingham concert.
