“Absolution” is the third track issued in advance of the album, following “From The Pinnacle To The Pit”
and the lead single, “Cirice.”

VIDEO: David Gilmour premieres Rattle That Lock
David Gilmour is premiering the video for the title track to his forthcoming album, “Rattle That Lock.”
Due September 18, the project sees Gilmour working alongside wife and lyricist Polly Samson and co-producer Phil Manzanera.
The video for “Rattle That Lock” was created by Alasdair & Jock from Trunk Animation alongside the creative directorship of Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis.
"I love animation when it does something that can’t be achieved any other way," says Gilmour. “The film Alasdair & Jock have made for Rattle That Lock highlights a darkness in the song that couldn’t have been shown any other way.”
The black and white, hand drawn animation depicts various facets from John Milton’s ‘Paradise Lost’, from which Samson drew inspiration for the lyrics.
“Rattle That Lock” will be available in a CD edition with clothbound, foil-blocked cover, including a 22-page booklet, and also on heavyweight vinyl, digital download and a deluxe box edition, which includes 4 Barn Jam films, 4 non-album audio tracks, 4 documentaries, and 2 promo clips.
A Deluxe Edition on CD+DVD or CD+Blu-ray versions will include 2 hardback books, a double-sided poster, a postcard in a dedicated envelope and a Gilmour guitar pick.
Gilmour will launch “Rattle That Lock” with a sold-out 11-date European tour, with shows starting on September 12 in Croatia; the run includes five concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
He’ll also play a recently-announced series of North American concerts in 2016, with dates scheduled for Los Angeles, Toronto, Chicago and New York.

VIDEO: Anthrax play final metal show at Sunset Strip House Of Blues

Anthrax performed the final metal show at the Sunset Strip’s House Of Blues on Wednesday.
The venue will officially close on August 7 to make way for a new hotel/housing/retail complex.
“Hello my friends!,” posted guitarist Scott Ian on Thursday. “I am recovering from a severe case of Metalneck after last night’s incredible show at House Of Blues Hollywood! What a way to shut it down!!!
“It was a blistering 2 hours and you guys and gals never let up for a second. Opening with 3 in a row from Spreading The Disease ripped, A.I.R., the much requested Lone Justice (you all know who you are) and Madhouse really set the pace for the evening all the way until Chuck D joined us on a category 5 hurricane version of Bring The Noise. Chuck is a force of nature and when he opens his mouth it’s like Black Bolt unleashing a shockwave but with lyrics.
“Seriously, House Of Blues was shaking at its foundation. What a night. Thank you LA and thank you House Of Blues! OK, back to work on the new record.”
Anthrax is currently in the final stages of recording the follow up to their 2011 album, “Worship Music”; the new project is expected in early 2016.
The band will play a series of major U.S. festivals this summer and is confirmed to join Motorhead for several dates on that group’s 40th anniversary tour, including Motorhead’s Motorboat 2015.
In the fall, Anthrax will then play Loud Park 15 in Japan, and join Slayer for a six-week European tour.

VIDEO: 1000 Italian Foo Fighters fans perform Learn To Fly
1000 Foo Fighters fans teamed up to perform the band’s 1999 hit, “Learn To Fly”, in Cesena, Italy on July 26 in hopes of convincing the group to play a show in their city.
“The Foo Fighters are not in Romagna since 1997, it’s time to get them back, but we need a crazy idea,”reads the description on Rockin’ 1000’s website. “We have to organize something that kicks ass worldwide and can be seen by Dave Grohl: We will ask one thousand rockers to play one of their songs, all together and at the same time.”
Rockin’ 1000 creator, Fabio Zaffagnini, was thrilled with the event as he made a plea to the Foo Fighters to come to Cesena.
"Italy is a country where dreams cannot easily come true, but it's a land of passion and creativity," he said. “What we did here is a huge, huge miracle. I’ve been working on this project for a year waking up every morning thinking about how to make it real.
“One thousand rockers that came from all over the nation at their own expense, and they just did one song — your song. So our call is to ask you, the Foo Fighters, to come and play for us.”
The Foo Fighters are currently scheduled to perform in Casalecchio Di Reno, Italy, on November 13 – about an hour away from Cesena – as part of a European tour in support of “Sonic Highways.”
The group shared the video on its social media sites on Thursday, adding "Che bello, Cesena," which translates to "How beautiful."
The Foo Fighters launched a North American tour with a 20th anniversary show at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC on July 4 that saw Grohl play the show with his leg in a cast while sitting on a metal throne.
The event in the rocker’s hometown landed 20 years to the day of the release of the group’s self-titled debut album, which the singer wrote and recorded on his own.

Nirvana: New Kurt Cobain demo added to Montage Of Heck rerelease
A previously unheard demo by Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain has been added to the theatrical re-release of director Brett Morgen’s documentary “Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck.”
Billboard reports the film’s return to theaters on August 7 will see the soundtrack include the untitled song, which features Cobain singing in a falsetto.
The period of the demo’s recording is unknown because it was pulled from an unmarked cassette, but Morgen says there's some evidence that Cobain recorded it in 1991 because it appears on a tape "on which he was also working on 'Old Age,'" which was written during the “Nevermind” sessions.
Morgen says he inserted the new song without altering the cut of the movie that played on HBO, which has since been nominated for seven Emmys.
He declined to divulge where the track appears "because I don't want to get people out there bootlegging it on their cell phones."
Cobain’s daughter, Frances Bean, served as executive producer on the project alongside Morgen as the pair worked on the definitive biography of the late Nirvana frontman.

VIDEO: U2 members perform with tribute band in New York
U2 members The Edge and Adam Clayton joined the New York-based U2 tribute band Unforgettable Fire at The Cutting Room in the city on Wednesday as part of a 20th anniversary event for fan site atu2.com
Rolling Stone reports the pair shocked the crowd at the 450-seat club with their surprise appearance, joining the tribute act for 1987’s “Where The Streets Have No Name” and “Out Of Control” from their 1980 debut, “Boy.”
"It was unforgettable and just insane,” says @U2 founder Matt McGee. “I was just numb. Tribute Edge was standing right behind Real Edge and Tribute Adam was standing right behind Real Adam. There was such joy in their faces. I'm almost in tears watching how happy they were."
"It was mind-boggling," McGee added on Thursday. "Our whole crew has been trading texts all morning saying, 'Did that really happen?'"
The guitarist and bassist’s appearance came on a night off from their 8-show residency at Madison Square Garden on the “Innocence + Experience” tour.
U2 will wrap up the North America leg of their tour at MSG on Friday before taking a five-week break, after which they’ll return to live action in early September to play across Europe.

AUDIO: Iron Maiden preview The Book Of Souls
Iron Maiden are sharing the first preview of new music from their forthcoming double album, “The Book Of Souls.”
Due September 4, the project was produced by Kevin Shirley and recorded in Paris in 2014.
Plans to release the record were delayed so that vocalist Bruce Dickinson – who was recently given the all-clear from a tumour – would have time to recuperate and assist in the preparations for the album’s launch.
“We’re really excited about The Book Of Souls and had a fantastic time creating it,” says Dickinson. “We started working on the album in late summer 2014 and recorded it at Guillame Tell Studios in Paris, where we’d done the Brave New World album back in 2000 so the studio holds special memories for all of us.
“We were delighted to discover the same magical vibe is still alive and very much kicking there! So we immediately felt at home and the ideas just started flowing. By the time we’d finished we all agreed that each track was such an integral part of the whole body of work that if it needed to be a double album, then double its going to be!”
“The Book Of Souls” will be available in a 2CD deluxe hardbound book limited edition, 2CD standard edition, Triple heavyweight black vinyl, High res audio (24-bit Mastered for ITunes and non-Mastered for iTunes) and Standard res audio (16 bit/ 44.1 kHz).
Iron Maiden were awarded the 2015 O2 Silver Clef Award by UK charity Nordoff Robbins at their 40th anniversary gala on July 3 in recognition of the band’s “outstanding contribution to UK music.”

VIDEO: The Darkness premiere Last Of Our Kind
The Darkness are premiering a video for the title track to their latest album, “Last Of Our Kind.”
The song features contributions from more than 500 fans, of which 15 were asked to come to the video shoot and get “freaky on camera.”
The resulting black-and-white video sees the group joined by hardcore fans rocking out to the tune while fist-pumping, air guitaring and more.
“Where would we be without our fans?,” says singer Justin Hawkins. “Well, we wouldn't have a video for a start. Or at least, we wouldn't have a video with quite so many brilliant people in it. I'm so proud of them, they never disappoint us”
The Darkness have been performing a UK and European festivals this summer and recently announced dates for a fall tour of North America.
The month-long run opens in Pomona, CA on October 10 and wraps up at the House Of Blues in Boston on November 1.

Taylor joined the band following the departure of drummer Emily Dolan Davies this past spring, just a month after she made her live debut with the group; she stepped in to record “Last Of Our Kind” after a split with original sticksman Ed Graham last fall.

U2 performed their 1983 single, “Two Hearts Beat As One”, for the first time in 26 years on Monday during their sixth show at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Peter Frampton announces first acoustic tour
Peter Frampton has announced dates for his first-ever acoustic tour.
The guitarist will be joined by Gordon Kennedy – longtime collaborator and co-producer of his Grammy Award-winning album “Fingerprints” – as well as his son, singer and guitarist Julian Frampton.
The 12-show run opens in Greeneville, TN on October 8.
"This is a first for me and I'm very excited about doing a whole show acoustically,” says Frampton. “I couldn't do it without the help of, my writing partner of 15 years, Gordon Kennedy who will be joining me for these shows.
“I see this show being 'me' performing the songs just as I wrote them on acoustic guitar or piano. I have done a lot of shows including 2 or 3 acoustic solo pieces and always enjoy the way it draws the audience and myself closer together."
"I couldn't be more ecstatic about the opportunity to support a legend while simultaneously spending time with family,” adds Julian. “Two birds, one stone."
Frampton is currently on the road mixing solo dates with co-headlining shows with Cheap Trick.

Keith Richards documentary to premiere on Netflix
Netflix will premiere the Keith Richards documentary, “Under The Influence”, on September 18 – the same day his first solo album in more than three decades, “Crosseyed Heart”, hits stores.
Directed by Morgan Neville (20 Feet From Stardom, Best Of Enemies), the film is billed as “an unprecedented look into the sounds and influences of rock and roll icon Keith Richards.”
“If there’s a Mount Rushmore of Rock ’n’ Roll, Keith’s face is surely on it,” says Neville. “He has always represented the soul of rock music—for all of the light and dark shades that implies.
"To my relief, Keith Richards turned out to be a real man—full of humor, knowledge and wisdom. That’s the real Keith we’ve worked to capture in our film and I’m honored to bring it to a global audience via Netflix.”
The portrait of Richards pursues the origins of his sound as a songwriter, guitarist and performer, charting influences back to the music that inspired him then and now - electric blues, country honky-tonk, southern soul, and more – as he creates his first solo album in 23 years, “Crosseyed Heart.”
“Under The Influence” visits many of the places that have inspired the Rolling Stones guitarist, including Chicago, Nashville and New York, with guest appearances including Tom Waits.
Neville directed the newly-released video for “Trouble”, the lead single from “Crosseyed Heart.”
The album sees Richards teamed with drummer Steve Jordan and guitarist Waddy Wachtel, with help from Rolling Stones backup singer Bernard Fowler, keyboardist Ivan Neville and singer Sarah Dash.
Special guests including Norah Jones, Spooner Oldham, multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell and Aaron Neville are also on board, while a pair of songs feature contributions from late Stones saxophonist Bobby Keys, who passed away last December at the age of 70.
Richards and The Rolling Stones recently wrapped up their Zip Code tour of North America with an appearance at the Festival d’été de Québec in Quebec City.

Keith Richards premieres Trouble video
Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards is premiering a video for “Trouble”, the lead single from his forthcoming solo album, “Crosseyed Heart.”
Directed by Morgan Neville (“20 Feet From Stardom”), the clip was filmed at Germano Studios in New York City, where much of the album was recorded.
Due September 18, the project marks Richards’ first solo album in more than 20 years and the follow-up to 1992’s “Main Offender.”
"I had a ball making this new record and working with Steve Jordan and Waddy Wachtel again," says Richards. "There's nothing like walking into a studio and having absolutely no idea what you’re going to come out with on the other end. If you're looking for 'Trouble,' you've come to the right place."
The trio were rounded out by Rolling Stones backup singer Bernard Fowler, keyboardist Ivan Neville and singer Sarah Dash, alongside special guests including Norah Jones, Spooner Oldham, multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell and Aaron Neville, while a pair of songs feature contributions from late Stones saxophonist Bobby Keys, who passed away last December at the age of 70.
The guitarist recently revealed the possibility of doing some solo dates behind the project.
Richards and The Rolling Stones just wrapped up their Zip Code tour of North America with an appearance at the Festival d’été de Québec in Quebec City.

Joe Walsh announces fall North American tour
Joe Walsh has announced dates for a fall tour of North America.
The Eagles guitarist will perform 13 shows on the month-long run, which opens in Warren, OH on September 18.
The trek will reunite Walsh with one of his Barnstorm band members, keyboardist and drummer Joe Vitale; the lineup will also include guitarist Gannin Arnold, bassist Tommy Simms and drummer Drew Hester.
Walsh says he will be performing hits from throughout his career, ranging from the James Gang to his Barnstorm days, to the Eagles and his solo records…along with some surprises.
“I’m going back in the catalog to dig out some songs that I haven’t ever played live, but everything everyone’s coming to hear will also be in the show,” says Walsh. “I've got a great band and I’m excited to play with my old friend Joe Vitale again. I also love being able to go into smaller venues. I’ve missed it…The interaction with the audience is much better, everybody has a good seat and it reminds me of the old days. I think I play my best in a small venue when the bass drums are kicking me in the pants. I'm really looking forward to it all.”
Joe Walsh Fan Club members will be able to access pre-sale tickets starting Wednesday, July 29 at 10am local venue time.
Tickets will go on sale for the general public starting Friday, July 31.
Walsh and The Eagles are currently playing shows across the US on their “History of the Eagles” tour in support of the band’s 2013 documentary of the same name.
The band have been named as one of the recipients of the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors.
The Eagles will be inducted at the 38th Annual Kennedy Center Honors event in Washington, DC in December alongside fellow honorees singer-songwriter Carole King, filmmaker George Lucas, actress and singer Rita Moreno, conductor Seiji Ozawa and actress and Broadway star Cicely Tyson.

Guitarist DJ Ashba quits Guns N’ Roses
Guitarist DJ Ashba has announced his departure from Guns N’ Roses after six years with the band.
Ashba plans to focus on Sixx:AM as they prepare to release two albums in 2016 alongside a planned 2-year world tour.
The guitarist joined Guns N’ Roses in 2009 as a replacement for Robin Finck, who left to rejoin Nine Inch Nails at the time.
On Monday, Ashba posted a statement on his social media with the news of his exit from Guns N’ Roses.
“6 years ago I received a call that changed my life forever,” writes Ashba. “The call was from a dear friend of mine (Katie McNeil-Diamond) who was working with Guns N’ Roses. It was an offer to audition for Axl Rose and earn a role in arguably the biggest rock band of my time. While I thought it was a complete long-shot, I decided to go ahead and give it a try. Much to my shock and surprise, I got the gig. And so began the most incredible journey I could have possibly imagined.
“I was blessed with the opportunity to not only work with one of the most talented bands but also to share the stage with a living legend and a truly gifted human being, Axl Rose. The amount of confidence and trust that Axl placed in me was genuinely heartwarming and truly career-defining.
“In the years that followed I traveled the world many times over and played these incredible songs night after night to the most enthusiastic and loving crowds. As you can imagine, the friendships that were forged during that time were deep and long lasting. But the most beautiful surprise of all was YOU... the fans. You welcomed me into your lives with open arms and showed me love and support that I could only have dreamed of. From the very first time I stepped on stage and started playing "Welcome To The Jungle," and felt the crowd erupt, I knew my life would never be the same. I'm not gonna lie...I was terrified!! But you were so accepting. You immediately turned my fear into pride. For that, I am truly grateful.
“So now it is with a very heavy heart and yet great pride that I announce that I've decided to close this chapter of my life and encapsulate the wonderful times that I've shared with Guns N’ Roses into fond memories. I have reached a point in my life where I feel its time to dedicate myself to my band Sixx:A.M., my adoring wife and family, and to the many new adventures that the future holds for me. I have always been driven by my passion for creating music and Sixx:A.M. has always been a place where I can express myself honestly and share that passion with my two brothers and bandmates, Nikki Sixx and James Michael. As you know I have also been blessed with the love and support of my incredible wife, Naty, who has been at my side for much of this amazing journey.
“As I sit here writing this letter, I want to take a moment to thank Axl from the bottom of my heart for not only the most incredible experience of my life, but for truly believing in me. You are a true friend and a champion of mine and I am forever grateful. And even as I move on to pursue other endeavors, I will always remain one of your biggest fans. I also would like to thank each and every one of you fans for your love and support throughout the years. Without you, I am nothing. Please know that I do not take one minute of this amazing life for granted.
“I hope that you all join me as I forge ahead. Let's conquer the world together! With love and respect, Dj Ashba.”
Currently on hiatus from touring, Guns N’ Roses' last live performances with Ashba were part of a spring 2014 residency at the The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

VIDEO: Lady Gaga performs with U2 in New York
U2 were joined by Lady Gaga for a performance of “Ordinary Love” at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

“All hail Her Gaganess,” posted the band on their social media sites.
U2 won a 2014 Best Original Song Golden Globe Award for the track, which also received an Oscar nomination in the Best Original Song category at the 86th Annual Academy Awards.
