Yes stream To The Moment from new box set From A Page

Yes are streaming a lyric video for “To The Moment”, one of four previously-unreleased tracks featured on the band's newly-released box set “From A Page.”

Joined by other 2010 songs “Words On A Page”, “From The Turn Of A Card” and “The Gift Of Love”, the project delivers the four tunes alongside the 2009 recording “In The Present: Live From Lyon.”

All of the material was recorded by the lineup of Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Alan White, Benoit David and Oliver Wakeman, who personally oversaw the preparation of the previously-unreleased recordings which were mixed by Karl Groom and mastered by Mike Pietrini.

The double CD album “Live From Lyon” was first released in 2010 and this edition restores “Second Initial”,which was previously a Japanese- only bonus track.

The box and one of the booklets features new artwork by Roger Dean, and the graphic design was undertaken by Wakeman, plus the set also includes his newly written liner notes about his time in the band.

“Following Chris Squire’s passing, I felt that the new music we’d created, but not released, should be heard and not sit unfinished on a shelf,” explains Wakeman. “And with Steve, Alan and Benoit’s enthusiasm for the project, I am proud to know that this music will get to see the light of day and, hopefully, be enjoyed by Yes fans as a piece of previously hidden Yes history.”

“Good music never goes away or lays down to the commercial pressures that exist,” says Howe. “Oliver’s compositions ‘To The Moment’, ‘Words On A Page’ and ‘From The Turn Of A Card’ demonstrate his musicality and talents, while working together on its arrangement ‘The Gift Of Love’ explores the collaborative essence of Yes, pooling ideas and then working together on its arrangement, whilst utilizing all of its many themes and variations. Karl Groom and Roger Dean both contributed their skills towards making this a worthy further ‘page’ in Yes‘ long and diverse musical adventures.”

“I’m pleased to see a gem of Yes history coming to fruition in the form of this mini box set,” adds White. “New songs from the past and I’m hoping we can find even more music in the archives for future releases.”

Yes will return to the road next spring for their 2020 Relayer tour; as part of the band’s Album Series, the shows will comprise two sets - the first will feature favorite classic tracks from Yes’ extensive catalogue, while the second will present their seventh studio album.

VIDEO: Iron Maiden thank fans for support of Legacy Of The Beast Tour

Iron Maiden are thanking fans in a new video for their support of the 2019 Legacy Of The Beast Tour.

The band opened the series with a North American leg that began in July and ran into late September, after which they performed three dates in Mexico City and an extensive run of shows in South America in the past month.

The shows for The Legacy Of The Beast tour feature production inspired by Iron Maiden’s free to play mobile game of the same name.

“Thank you to everyone who came to see us in 2019!”, said the band on social media.

On November 22, Iron Maiden will issue the fourth and final batch of releases in their album reissue series.

A continuation of the veteran metal band’s remastered Studio Collection project – which saw 2014/2017’s black vinyl releases and 2015’s Mastered for iTunes project – the digipacks will present the track listing matching the original UK releases using audio taken from the same remasters as the 2015 hi-res digital releases.

The series will wrap up with 2003’s “Dance Of Death”, 2006’s “A Matter Of Life And Death”, 2010’s “The Final Frontier” and 2015’s “The Book Of Souls.”

Rolling Stones: Ronnie Wood previews Somebody Up There Likes Me documentary

Ronnie Wood is streaming a video trailer for a new documentary about The Rolling Stones guitarist entitled “Somebody Up There Likes Me.”

Billed as “the first in-depth film biography” of Wood, the project traces the career of the legendary rocker, who has been at the centre of rock ‘n’ roll and British music history for decades.

Interspersed with vintage performance footage of The Jeff Beck Group, The Faces and The Rolling Stones, the film traces Wood’s life from his upbringing in West London, where his father Arthur would fall asleep in neighbours’ gardens as Wood and his two brothers often awoke to find “characters draped over the furniture” who Arthur had brought home from the pub.

Directed by Mike Figgis, the documentary features brand new interviews with Wood’s Rolling Stones bandmates Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts, as well as his Faces bandmate Rod Stewart; other interviewees include his wife Sally Wood, singer Imelda May and artist Damien Hirst.

“When my mate Mike Figgis approached me to make this documentary film, I was baffled where to start and where to finish,” says the guitarist. “Oh well, how about from being born into the Wood dynasty to where I am right now! That should do it ... The title says it all, hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did making it. ‘Leave ‘em wanting more’, as the man said, so look out people, there’s a lot more stories to be told.”

While Figgis’ film is sympathetic to Wood, it doesn’t shy away from his hardships, as he talks openly about his battles with drink and drugs, speaking honestly about overcoming his freebase addiction as well as beating lung cancer.

The project takes its title from Wood surviving his chronic smoking habit, as he says: “When they operated on my cancer, they took away my emphysema. They said my lungs were as if I’d never smoked. I thought: ‘How’s that for a Get Out Of Jail Free card?’ Somebody up there likes me, and somebody down here likes me too.”

Following its premiere at the BFI London Film Festival earlier this month, “Somebody Up There Likes Me” will screen in cinemas around the UK and Ireland starting in late November - for more information and tickets, visit ronniewoodmovie.com.

Wood and The Rolling Stones wrapped up their 2019 No Filter tour in August; on November 8, the band will release a new live package, “Bridges To Buenos Aires”, featuring a 1998 performance in the Argentine capital.

Megadeth: Dave Mustaine teams with Reverb to sell 40 years of music gear

Megadeth leader Dave Mustaine is partnering with Reverb to sell nearly 150 items, including guitars, amps, recording equipment, and more gear used throughout his career.

"When you've been playing and touring for as long as I have, you tend to amass quite a collection of gear," says Mustaine. "They're great instruments and they represent more than 40 years of playing – but I've got more than I could possibly use myself. I owe so much to my fans – if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't even have all this gear. I'd rather give it back to them than let it sit and collect dust."

"As far as the gear is concerned, there’s a lot of small detailed stuff that we have in our storage. Stuff that goes back to the very beginning of the band,"
he continues. “I have a lot, a lot, a lot of gear. I’ve got a lot of double-neck guitars, I’ve got a lot of prototype stuff. I’ve got absolutely killer collector’s item stuff for the right guy. For me, my job is to put everything I can into this guitar so that when it gets put in somebody else’s hands, I can say, 'This is the guitar that wrote 'Holy Wars.'"

Among the items that will be for sale in the Reverb shop are 20 of the thrash metal legend's signature guitars, including a 1987 Dean Dave Mustaine Signature Holy Grail V (#1 of 33), a Signature Zero Korina (#10 of 50), a 2007 Signature Silver V prototype, a Signature Silver Burst VMNT, and a Signature Stealth VMNT that was used extensively for touring.

Mustaine's Reverb shop will also feature:

• Several Marshall EL34 100/100 Dual Monoblock amps, including one that is autographed and one that still has Mustaine's settings marked.
• An Akai MPC1000 drum machine that was used extensively on tour and autographed by Mustaine.
• Several Zoom G2.1DM Dave Mustaine Signature pedals used by Mustaine on tour as indicated by the gaff tape still on the pedals.
• A Furman PL-8 Power Conditioner autographed by Mustaine and last used on the Vimic song "Fail Me (My Temple)," on which Mustaine is featured.
• Multiple Fractal Axe FX-II amps used by Mustaine on tour.
• A seven-piece DDrum drum kit with art from Peace Sells on the kick drum.
• A Shure Wireless Megadeth Transmitter System with signed cases.
• Several acoustic guitars, multiple effects pedals, kick pedals and crash symbols, and more.

The Official Dave Mustaine Reverb Shop will go live on Monday, November 4; for details, visit reverb.com.

Mustaine and Megadeth will join Five Finger Death Punch on the band’s early 2020 tour of Europe, with shows starting in Helsinki, Finland on January 20.

Ozzy Osbourne new album update

Ozzy Osbourne will release a new studio album in January, according to details shared by Sharon Osbourne in a new interview with SiriusXM.

Last month, Ozzy revealed that he had recently completed recording the project as he continues to recover at home from a series of illnesses, injuries and surgeries that sidelined his 2019 live schedule earlier this year.

"He had a very, very bad accident this year, but he's getting there,” explained Sharon on The Jess Cagle Show. “He's just finished an album, and the album is coming out in January. And he's doing good."

Working on the project has "been a huge boost" for Ozzy, she added, "because he felt literally worthless. And he would watch different things on TV, and he was watching some band, a documentary on a band, and they were in their tour bus traveling. And he couldn't watch it - he was near to tears, and he goes, 'I miss my life. I want my life back.' It's been really hard on him. But he's getting there. He'll be back."

Despite recently postponing an already rescheduled European tour as he continues to recover, Sharon confirmed that the rocker is still planning on completing his No More Tours 2 farewell trek.

"He has another year and a half to do," she said. "And these kids have held on to their tickets for over a year. And he's gonna go back and he's gonna fulfill that commitment - he's gonna play those shows. And he's not totally retiring, but the touring - he won't do any more touring."

Ozzy will release a solo career-spanning, limited edition vinyl box set, “See You On The Other Side”, on November 29.

Motley Crue stream Ride With The Devil lyric video

Motley Crue are streaming a lyric video for “Ride With The Devil”, one of three original new songs featured in the Netflix biopic “The Dirt”, and its companion soundtrack album.

Alongside “Crash And Burn”, the title track and a cover of Madonna’s “Like A Virgin”, the tunes were part of a series of four new recordings from sessions last fall.

“During the filming of our movie we got excited and inspired to write new music,” explained bassist Nikki Sixx. “Getting back in the studio with Bob Rock just fueled the creative fires for us. To me, the music sounds like classic Motley. The lyrics were written for the movie and are a reflection of our life.”

Directed by Jeff Tremaine, the 2019 film follows Motley Crue’s rise from the Los Angeles club scene to headline-making international stardom and stars Douglas Booth as Sixx, Machine Gun Kelly as drummer Tommy Lee, Daniel Webber as singer Vince Neil, and Iwan Rheon as guitarist Mick Mars.

The companion soundtrack album helped earn the band their first appearance in the US Top 10 in a decade when it debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 this spring.

Nirvana: Kurt Cobain sweater from MTV Unplugged sells for $334k at auction

The sweater worn by Kurt Cobain during the taping of Nirvana’s 1993 “MTV Unplugged In New York” performance sold for $334,000 at an auction in New York over the weekend.

Hosted by Julien’s Auctions at the city’s Hard Rock Café, Cobain’s olive-green cardigan – unwashed and complete with a burn hole – topped its pre-event estimate of $200-300k as part of a two-day “Icons & Idols: Rock 'N' Roll” event that featured over 700 historical artifacts and memorabilia previously owned and used by Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Queen, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John and many others.

The auction took place just a week before Nirvana will release an expanded vinyl edition of “MTV Unplugged In New York” on November 1 to mark the project’s 25th anniversary.

Recorded at Sony Music Studios on November 18, 1993 and first broadcast by MTV a few weeks later, the performance saw Nirvana deliver a 14-song set that mixed original tunes with tracks by David Bowie, Lead Belly and The Vaselines, and included a guest appearance on three Meat Puppets songs by band members Cris and Curt Kirkwood.

The Unplugged package was first issued six months after the death of leader Kurt Cobain; it debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 on its way to sales of more than 5 million copies in the country and a 1996 Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.

The 25th anniversary vinyl reissue has been expanded to include five rehearsal performances previously only available on a 2007 DVD release.

Robert Plant discusses Led Zeppelin IV classic on Digging Deep podcast

Robert Plant shares his thoughts on the “Led Zeppelin IV” classic, “The Battle Of Evermore”, on the latest episode of the rocker’s podcast series Digging Deep.

The 1971 tune features mandolin by Jimmy Page and a duet between Plant and Sandy Denny of the British folk rock group Fairport Convention.

“Led Zeppelin IV” – which featured instant classics like “Black Dog”, “Rock And Roll”, “Misty Mountain Hop” and “Stairway To Heaven” – topped the UK charts and peaked at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 before going to become the band’s best-selling record in the States at 23 million copies.

Plant will conclude season two of Digging Deep with the release of a very special limited-edition seven-inch singles box set of the same name on December 13.

The package will include 16 A-sides and rare B-sides as featured in the first two seasons of the online series, with material spanning three decades of Plant’s extensive solo career.

The eight-disc collection also features restored artwork from the original seven-inch releases, packaged in a bespoke hardback book.

Plant’s most recent studio release is 2017’s “Carry Fire.”

VIDEO: Alice In Chains wrap up Rainier Fog tour in Seattle

Alice In Chains are sharing a video package of highlights from the final show of their world tour in support of 2018’s “Rainier Fog.”

“31 countries, and countless cities later, it was wonderful finishing out the Rainier Fog Tour in our hometown of Seattle,” says the band. “Watch the show recap from WaMu Theater on September 20th - directed and filmed by Sebastien Paquet and William Felch.”

Alice In Chains teamed up with producer Nick Raskulinecz to record their sixth album; launched with the lead single “The One You Know”, the set debuted at No. 12 on the US Billboard 200 last fall.

The record also spawned a companion 10-part sci-fi series entitled “Black Antenna”, with each episode named after a song from the album.

“Rainier Fog” was nominated for a 2019 Grammy Award for Best Rock Album, but lost out to the Greta Van Fleet EP, “From The Fires.”

Since the tour’s finale, Alice In Chains vocalist/guitarist William DuVall has released his debut album, “One Alone”, and hit the road for a solo acoustic tour, while guitarist Jerry Cantrell has announced plans to play a solo show in Los Angeles, CA on December 7.

Pink Floyd stream One Slip 2019 remix from The Later Years box set

Pink Floyd are streaming a 2019 mix of their 1987 track, “One Slip”, as the latest preview to the November 29 release of a new box set entitled “The Later Years 1987-2019.”

Originally produced by Bob Ezrin and David Gilmour for the band’s thirteenth studio album, “A Momentary Lapse Of Reason”, the remix was put together by Gilmour and Andy Jackson with assistance by Damon Iddins.

Reaching No. 3 on both the US and UK charts, the project was the first Pink Floyd album recorded without founding member Roger Waters, who left the outfit in 1985.

Serving as a companion to 2016's “The Early Years 1965–1972”, the new 5-CD/6-Blu-ray/5-DVD package includes an updated version of 1987’s “A Momentary Lapse Of Reason”, an expanded edition of 1998’s live album, “Delicate Sound Of Thunder”, a series of 1987 & 1994 live recordings & unreleased studio recordings, and full versions of the group’s 1989 Venice Concert and 1990 appearance at Knebworth.

Among the DVD/Blu-ray material in the package is a restored and remixed concert film for “Delicate Sound Of Thunder”, a restored and re-edited edition of the 1995 live set “Pulse”, and a number of various unreleased live films, music videos and screen films.

“Pink Floyd: The Later Years 1987-2019” will also be available in a 2LP / 1CD ‘Highlights’ package that comes in a gatefold sleeve (for both CD and 2LP), while each will contain a 24-page booklet containing previously unseen and rare photos.

VIDEO: Metallica perform tour debut of 1996 rarity in Mannheim

Metallica are streaming video of a performance their 1996 track, “The Outlaw Torn”, from an August 25 concert at Palastzelt Maimarktgelände in Mannheim, Germany.

The event saw the WorldWired tour debut of the closing song on the band’s sixth album, “Load”, which was last featured during a show in 2011.

The Mannheim date – which marked the final concert of the summer European leg of Metallica’s ongoing tour – was followed by a pair of shows with the San Francisco Symphony at the opening of the new Chase Center in San Francisco last month, as captured in the concert film “S&M2.”

The project’s October 9 debut in cinemas worldwide was so successful that more screenings have been scheduled to take place on October 30; full details are available at metallica.film.

Following the orchestral concerts, Metallica announced that frontman James Hetfield had re-entered rehab for addiction issues, which caused the cancellation of a series of dates in Australia and New Zealand this fall.

Bruce Springsteen streams Rhinestone Cowboy cover from Western Stars film

Bruce Springsteen is streaming his cover of the 1970s classic, “Rhinestone Cowboy”, as featured on the newly-release package, “Western Stars – Songs From The Film.”

Originally written and recorded by Larry Weiss in 1974, the tune went on to become a US No. 1 hit on both the country and pop charts a year later for Glen Campbell.

The soundtrack to Springsteen’s concert film and documentary, “Western Stars”, delivers live performances of every song from the new album, as well as the New Jersey rocker’s take on the 1970s hit.

The singer’s directorial debut – alongside longtime collaborator Thom Zimny – sees Springsteen perform with a band and a full orchestra under the cathedral ceiling of his historic nearly 100-year-old barn.

Springsteen’s first studio album in five years, “Western Stars” debuted at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 upon its release in June.

The companion documentary project evokes the American West while weaving archival footage and Springsteen’s personal narration alongside the intimate performance of the record.

The film recently debuted in cinemas as part of a two-night theatrical release.

Jimi Hendrix streams Foxy Lady from New Year's Eve 1969 performance

Jimi Hendrix’s team are streaming audio of a New Year’s Eve 1969 performance of his classic track, “Foxy Lady”, with the Band Of Gypsys as the latest preview to the November 22 release of a new box set entitled “Songs For Groovy Children: The Fillmore East Concerts.”

The 5CD package delivers over two dozen live tracks by Hendrix, bassist Billy Cox and drummer Buddy Miles that have either never before been released commercially or have been newly-pressed and newly-remixed for the 2019 set.

The group performed four concerts over the course of two evenings – December 31, 1969 and January 1, 1970 – to introduce the lineup to fans at the famed Manhattan venue.

The original 1970 Band Of Gypsys album was edited and sequenced from songs performed during the two Fillmore sets on January 1, 1970. Subsequent collections mined more material from each of the performances with significant portions of live recordings from those nights sitting unreleased for almost half a century … until now.

Produced by Janie Hendrix, Eddie Kramer and John McDermott, “Songs For Groovy Children: The Fillmore East Concerts” will also see an 8LP vinyl release on December 13.

Queen celebrate Bohemian Rhapsody milestone with fan video series

Queen have teamed up with fans in more than 120 countries for a new classic video series in honor of “Bohemian Rhapsody” recently becoming the first pre-1990s video to reach one billion views on YouTube.

The group’s “You Are the Champions” campaign enlisted loyal fans from around the world to help create brand-new, user-generated fan music videos for three of the band’s most recognizable tracks: “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Don’t Stop Me Now,” and “A Kind Of Magic.”

“Bohemian Rhapsody” features a musician/singer performance-based video, while fans had to learn choreography for a dance-based video for “Don’t Stop Me Now”, and a montage of bespoke work from visual artists is presented for “A Kind Of Magic.”

Billed as “a true celebration of the band’s unique connection with their fans around the world,” the videos see the band represented by multiple generations from every continent.

“It’s one of the most rewarding things that can happen to an artist of any kind: to see that our work has inspired folk all around the world to create their own performances and visual art is a thrill,” says guitarist Brian May. “And the diversity of their vision is astonishing. Big thanks to everyone who participated.”

Following their appearance at the recent Global Citizen Festival, Queen + Adam Lambert will bring their all-new Rhapsody show to South Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand in early 2020.
